Hate to do this, but must report you’ve got another bug. Forum index sometimes does not list some posts.
I’ve suspected as much for a couple of weeks, because often I’ve not seen the postgame thread listed in the index. Have often resorted to going to GDT last entry to find link to post game thread. Assumed it was something about the PGT that made it not display for me, like I’d blocked the author or something like that.
But it just happened again, when I tried to go back to check that vid player behavior I just reported the index does not shot the PGT (screenshot below) although it did just before I came here to make that report. So that’s certainly some kind of bug.
There’s another funny behavior that might be related or might just be an edge case that’s cosmetic, or might be a real bug. I’ve started to notice that I’ll be catching up on a thread and on the next to last page I’ll get a page count showing there’s another page of replies but when I try to load it I get an empty page. Can’t tell for sure whether there’s really no post there, or if there’s a post that I can’t see at that moment. I’ve sometimes had the suspicion that it was the latter.
I’ve also fairly often had an experience of reading a reply to an earlier comment but when I click the back link on the quote in that reply to go review it I don’t get it. First few times it happened I assumed maybe it was a dirty delete but it’s happening often enough I’m suspicious it’s a bug, especially with a couple of other bugs apparently similar enough to implicate some common code paths or functions. At this point I’d be suspicious of timing issues and would look for asynchronous functions that might be implicated by the context of all those problems. Or caching? If it’s some browser interaction could be a real PITA to diagnose. FYI I’m almost always on my iPad although I do have various laptops available if I can give you any help debugging…
EDIT TO ADD: or maybe it’s your CDN. I got the “unable” screen when I tried to post this so did the cloudflare reauth thing. This time it didn’t present a captcha, just reauthorized automagically so I guess credentials weren’t too stale yet. Anyway made me think perhaps not just browser caching but CDN could be implicated. So I came here to add this edit and found a smoking gun, or bullet hole: the post that succeeded after cloudflare reauth turned out to be truncated. Fortunately I was paranoid and copied the buffer into my clipboard when I got the “unable” so I was able to recover and restore the full comment during this edit.
