2026 Draft: RT

Ersery at 38 last year to double up on tackles would not have been a bad pick. My comp for Ersery this year is Isaiah World.

I'd be fine with:

- Spencer Fano or Francis Mauigoa in the 1st
- Isaiah World, Caleb Lomu (if we think he can move to RT) or Fili Fa'amoe in the 2nd
- Austin Siereveld 2nd/3rd
- The other guys in round 3-4

Manx-like open-minded question of the day:

How would Kadyn Procter do as a RT?

I don't know if there's much distinction nowadays. Think about Maxx Crosby, TJ Watt, Will Anderson and Von Miller all rushing predominantly from the RT side.

I just hope we wrap up home field advantage with a couple of games to spare so that we can get a look at the likes of Marcus Bryant, Josh Farmer, Bradyn Simpson, Chsm and Williams in extended competitive looks. Wishful thinking, but one can dream. But at least we'll be better informed.

Dametrious Crownover v Keldric Faulk

I love RT Crownover turning a potential loss into a win here.

Not an elite athlete but at 335lbs, this isn't bad.

I was looking through James Foster's big board and he has an athleticism and speed score as part of it. These scores are obviously related to a prospects size and not just based upon pure athleticism and pure speed. I imagine he makes these judgements based upon film watching although I have asked him for clarification.

The reason I'm posting this is that he grades Dametrious Crownover as the most athletic prospect in the draft which I found interesting.

Other notables. Jaeden Roberts ranks first for speed, Terrance Carter ranks second for speed and Tacario Davis 2nd for athleticism.

Don't take it too seriously because obviously we don't have any firm athletic data but it may be useful as a temporary guide for now.

The reason I looked into this is because I was thinking about last years picks and all the first three picks were particularly athletic guys so it might be a useful consideration when looking at potential prospects in the early rounds.

I got a very quick response from James. The athleticism/speed scores are based upon in-game tracking data so it absolutely does have value more than just an eye test.

Offensive tackles with a 75 pass blocking grade and a 75 run blocking grade. Those in bold currently play RT. The best run blockers are at the bottom of the list.

Cayden Green, Missouri
Austin Siereveld, Ohio State
Gennings Dunker, iowa
Blake Miller, Clemson

Kage Casey, Boise St
Carter Smith, Indiana
PJ Williams, SMU
Francis Mauigoa, Miami
Spencer Fano, Utah

JC Davis, Illinois
Keagen Trost, Missouri
Brian Parker II, Duke

This is a great draft for potential RTs:

Spencer Fano
Francis Mauigoa
Kadyn Proctor
Fa'alili Fa'amoe
Austin Siereveld
Caleb Lomu
Isaiah Worlds
Monroe Freeling
Gennings Dunker
Cayden Green
Trevor Goosby
Kage Casey
PJ Williams
Blake Miller
Carter Smith
Dametrious Crownover

That's 16 guys I see with starting potential. Some may move inside (I'm not even including Brian Parker). All have NFL starter talent, IMO.

I suspect some will be available Day 3.

Proctor in the first, Styles in the 2nd (trade up)?

Proctor at 330 is a major mismatch.

I like mismatches in our favor.

How about:

1. Kadyn Proctor. Lili Fa'amoe and Austin Siereveld backup options, possibly with slight trade back.

2. Jake Golday or Anthony Hill, LB/EDGE. Would love Sonny Styles if he is in within reach.

3. Julian Neal, CB. Chris Johnson and Tacario Davis also good options.

4a. Zakee Wheatley, S. Jermaine Mathews and Amare Ferrell also good options.

4b. Best available IOL or WR.

5a. Akheem Mesidor, EDGE.

5b (trade up). Best available TE or WR.

Moonshots with the rest.

Sign a RB (Hall, Walker) and an EDGE (Phillips, maybe trade for Thibodeaux) and re-sign people, and the roster re-build will be nearly complete.

Kadyn Proctor < 350# = 1st round worthy

Campbell-LG-Wilson-RG-Proctor

or

Campbell-Proctor-Wilson-RG-RT

would be a strong foundation.

I never thought I'd live to see the day where Mayo would be mocking Kadyn Proctor in the first to us

Trying to not get locked in, Sensei. Though I would prefer Arvell Reese in the 1st and Proctor in the 2nd.

I feel better about Proctor: I think his struggles were weight related, not effort, attitude, or technique. Around 340-350# he moves much better, and his footwork is decent. He seems like an intelligent kid, and a good one.

Are we ready to count on him coming in every off season at <350? I'd rather not deal with that headache.

That's the gamble.

That is also probably the only reason he may last until we pick.

Do we pick a safer player, or go for Pryor's upside?
