AFC East Division Race (10/13 - Patriots Now on Top After Bills Loss)

Not for nothing, but a lot of our current key players were brought in during the last 4 years of Belichick. And some of the ones who were cut are now successful starters around the league.

You want 3 starters per draft and another in FA every year, and the last several years of Belichick were better than that.

The problem Belichick drafts were the last 5 years of the Super Bowl era.
The problem was the QB he drafted.

Can you show me when Brock Osweiler won an MVP? Or when he went 13-4 with 40 TDs and 6 ints.
Or when he led an offense that was #2 in scoring and #1 in fewest turnovers.

I’m all for Bill hating but that is just an unbelievably stupid comment.

If I need to win a fantasy football league Josh Allen is my guy.

If I actually need to win a Super Bowl... nah.

You said he’s Brock Osweiler
Allen probably would have already won 1 if his defense didn’t choke.
How many current starting QBs have ever won a SB? 3? And one of them did in year 13 after 12 years with zero playoff wins.

Again, stupid

Yup, and Brady was a system QB whos ****ty division and defenses carried him to all those Super Bowls.

But hey, if you wanna toss JA17's salad go right ahead. The guy is a loser.

Anyone that thought Richardson was going to win that nonsense in PS hasn't been paying attention to his work.

He's Jamarcuss Russell.

I never thought Dan was a great QB, but NYG teams have sucked recently, not ENTIRELY his fault.
That's not fair to Jamarcus Russell.
Russell's problem is that he has rocks for brains. No one could ever say he wasn't trying out there.
Richardson tapped out on a 4th quarter drive because he was tired.

Actually, you're right. I made a mistake.

Brock Osweiler has a Super Bowl ring.
Come on man, you're embarrassing Canadians.
Was Diggs there last year when Allen won the MVP?

Well, that's true. After all MVP is an award you have to earn through tangible achievements and not just a bunch of sports journalists we all say don't know jack **** about football choosing it in smoke filled rooms.

The greatest player in the history of the NFL only won it 3 times in his 22 season career.

If Josh Allen ever carries his team to a Lombardi I'll return and eat my crow. Until that day he's an overrated gunslinger.

Please show me where I have said anything resembling that about Brady.

Allen has led Buffalo to 6 straight playoff berths.
He has a winning record in the playoffs, has taken them to 2 AFCCG. His defense has choked 4 times vs the chiefs.

He was 25 TDS and 4 ints in the post season.

There is no rational thinking in grrrrr jOSh aLlEn SUcKs, but not sure what I would expect from a guy who thinks about “tossing salad”

The greatest player?
LMFAO What a clown.

?

This is a process man, you gotta enjoy it all.

All the stuff that happened up until now.. First night in years the Patriots sit atop the AFCE from a legit vantage point.

Next step - hold the division lead

Following step - win the division

Playoff seeding, match ups etc and so on

Will it happen who knows, but you gotta enjoy the good moments when they come, you're a fan cmon it's fun!

one game at a time
Yes, there was a time when being first in division was our SB. That time was before Kraft.

Being first in division just reminds some of the last time this took place.

I prefer to look forward a game at a time. Of course, as Parcells taught, we should also focus on the goal of winning the division (and yes, sometimes you get a wild card spot).

At this point the Pats have a few things going for them. The two losses are against LV and Pitt and neither will likely be in a tie-breaker with the Pats. LV because they suck and Pitt because they're a lock for the AFCN. We also already have a win over the Bills and a fairly easy remaining schedule

If they can fix the pass defense they could make some noise.
So, we are playing to see who hosts the BUF-NE 5 vs 4 game?

Josh Allen is Aaron Rodgers from 2015-2022. And that's not an insult. Rodgers carried the Packers and fooled the media into thinking that they were Super Bowl contenders on a yearly basis. But like the Bills, the Packers rosters during that time frame were very weak. Most of the time, the Packers didn't lose from Aaron choking, it was because they routinely ran into teams that exploited how bad their weaknesses were - specifically on defense, running game and lack of threats outside of Davante Adams.

Josh is never going to win anything until the Bills get serious and put pieces around him. That roster is **** and I think NE has already surpassed them.

Understood, and that's part of what I'm saying. Enjoy the process of this Franchise being back in the right direction and enjoy the moments as they come. Hopefully what I'm talking about regarding the division will come to pass, but I never stated anything about looking past anything.

Theyve done such a terrible job building around Allen. What a waste of his prime. Not sure where they are spending their money but its not effective. Kincaid is on a rookie contract. rbs are not expensive so theyre not paying Cook a ton (12m per year i believe). Theres no reason their wr’s and defense should suck this bad when Allen is the only real offensive weapon making big bucks.

The Bills have a Tougher Schedule and they're not perfect. IF we take care of business @ Home: we might be playing for the #1 seed the AFC. That would be a Great one season turnaround.

I think what we have taken for granted is the health of our starters. With the kind of depth we have, go forbid any injury to any of our key players outside maye will detail the season. That's how bad the depth is.

So if we are able to get some depth pieces in trade deadline that would hold us in good stead. So far what we have achieved with the personnel we have is a miracle.

Campbell
Marcus Jones
Gonzo
Barmore/Williams
Woodson
Bradbury
Chaisson/ Landry

Are just irreplaceable. So it would be great if we can get some you f depth pieces on edge , safety and cornerbacks before we look into other areas . No need for superstars , just need NFL caliber players.

And let's hope that we ride the luck of good health for the remainder of season .

This doesn't surprise.
I said several times in several posts in the preseason that once you find "the guy" at QB, your "rebuild" gets expedited exponentially.
The only question was if/when Drake could, or would make that leap.
As of right now, he appears to have made that leap.
If you have a top 5 QB, your SB windows opens, and stays open as long your QB plays at that level, regardless of the rest of your roster.
Just so happens the rest of our roster is pretty decent, the Oline is pass blocking way better, and we have really NFL coaching.
I'm not saying we are winning the SB, but I'm not surprised at our leap. It's always contingent on QB play, and we got a good one.
