Patriots need to get more out of Henderson

Titans have one of the worst run defenses in the league. The Pats run game is under the microscope this week for consistently underperforming capped by an abysmal showing in New Orleans. If there isn’t improvement this week, personnel needs to change.
Buffalo’s run D is worse.
3rd worse in the league and we made them look like the 85 Bears.
Titans are 8th worst.
It’s not about our opposition, it’s about us. Our run blocking has been next level trash.
I have no confidence they can run…..on anyone!

So what happens on that Afternoon or night when Passing isn't prudent?? Another reason I want D Henry him going forward alone nets us Two yards. 2nd and 8 is better than 2nd and 12.

Dude, that’s why I’ve been staring time and time again that our run O is our biggest weakness, and needs to get better….FAST!
Can’t put it all in Maye’s shoulders every week.

Has a lot more to do with talent and the players ahead of the rookies actually playing than the system being too "hard"
True for Williams, but nobody is truly ahead of Henderson at the moment. They need to utilize his skill set a bit differently. Wheel routes, line him up in the slot a bit, get him in open space where he can explode, end-arounds etc..

I open to trying anybody right now even T jennings at RB.

You could put ************ with rocket boosters up his ass back there, and it won't matter if Tubagoo is ole'ing every run block.
Tubagoo when did we sign him??

For Henderson I think they are just trying to find the happy medium between ensuring Maye has protection/easy outlet (see the flip pass) and running the routes he is comfortable with.

My gut tells me he has a ways to go running NFL-level routes and that is expected. Can't be KFaulk, Vereen, or White Day 1.

Was our line so great in 2018 that sony michel had a phenomenal run as a rookie .

Or is the line so absymal that they cannot allow even 100 yards rushing as a committee per game ?

2018 was among their best run blocking lines and line overall during the BB era.

I’ve noticed many teams are having a hard time running that football, including the Eagles.

Even they couldn't ...

Everyone expects Henderson to be a #1 RB

He's not. He's just not physically big enough. That why Stevenson still gets the call in short yardage situations especaillly with the state of the run blocking.

I'd say the need a good strong bull of a RB but no matter how much we wish it Henderson is still going to be 5 foot 10 and 200 lbs.

Vereen was also a second round draft pick who did nothing for 2 years. He will get more reps when they feel he is the best option- not before

That's my main concern seeing him on the field. He looks tiny and not what he's listed as.

Our run blocking resembles a third rate donkey show...

Watched that play a million times trying to make sense of the blocking scheme.

Best I can think is that if Campbell doesn't stop to chip a guy and simply flies to his assignment (the ILB), he may have had a chance to get there. Maybe not even so, but at least he'd have had a chance. And with Campbell on the ILB, Rham could have accelerated instantly through the wide open middle. All the other missed blocks to the outside wouldn't have mattered.

So I'm going to go way against the grain here and say Campbell stopping to chip had a bigger impact on that play than anything else. Even if all the other missed blocks are more apparently obvious.
