Another Taboo Elephant! [Mac Jones playing well in SF]

I said this in another thread... Mac Jones can be like truth serum for how well you built your team. I don't think he's a guy who's going to elevate those around you, but I also don't think he's going to crash the bus either. I think he can keep a team afloat. To ever win anything of consequence with him, you'd have to be absolutely stacked around him because he simply isn't capable of making enough plays for you to win high stakes games against the best competition. BUT that's a really good backup QB profile and if he's strategic about who he signs with and an injury or underperformance at QB opens the door for him on the right team, he can have a run - that's kind of what's happening in SF right now, though the injuries might be piling up too high for them to be stacked enough around him for this ton continue.

I'm rooting for Mac Jones, but he's severely limited as an athlete and is only effective when things go according to the script. However, the 49ers are have so many injuries right now a game like yesterday was inevitable. I don't think Purdy is going to do much better when he returns and the talk in the local media will be it was a mistake signing him.

I said in another thread that Jones is proving he can be a good QB in the right system with the right talent around him. That said, I am glad he flamed out here because Drake Maye is a QB who can carry a team even with subpar talent. Without the Mac Jones debacle, Drake Maye would be playing somewhere else today.

I have always said that Jones was set up for failure in New England. He didn't handle it well at all, but the Patriots put on a clinic on how bad teams ruin young QBs.

I'm rooting for Mac I think he can find a place in this league kind of like Hoyer maybe a little bit better.

But were we not watching the 2nd half of the game last night? Mac did Mac things. Obviously Bucs are one of the better or at least hottest teams right now.

BREAKING NEWS: Mac Jones busted in SanFran with Taboo Elephant p0rn in Home

We should known, it's always those buttoned down types that are into the weird ****.
And not for nothing, has anyone else noticed we have more than our share of taboo elephants running around the place this morning?
Place is tarting to look like a Vikings tailgate party

I think back to what rex Ryan said about him being a pea shooter.. he is. Mac is a serviceable QB who can come in and play well with the coaching players around him. SF is hit big time by the injury bug..

Don't know how long Purdy is sidelined but essentially he and Mac are the same QB IMO.

Mac Jones is now showing exactly who he is…a capable back-up who can step in as a spot starter for a few games and not totally screw your team up.

He’s fine in that role as long as you recognize his overall limitations and give him a game manager type game plan.

Happy to see that he’s found a home/role in SF.

..which tells us all we need to know about late-stage NFL Bill.

I am certainly rooting for Mac. He landed in the worst possible situation here, and it's only fair he gets a legit shot at developing to the extent his abilities allow.

Mac Jones seems to have matured and found a home in San Francisco
It won’t last. He still has a weak arm and is afraid of being hit. He threw 2 ugly ints yesterday that looked just like his days here.
Shanahans offense, esp with mccaffrey will give any qb good numbers.
The issue with jones was never finding the point first read a d making the throw its everything that follows.

I'm guessing you missed the 4th quarter yesterday.

Pure, uncut, unfiltered Macorkle Ball.
Was gonna say. Mac turned back into the Mac we know and love yesterday.

I think he’s an elite spot starter for a handful of games. But if you ask him to get into a shootout, you’ll see his implosions.

Bad teams that are very poorly coached and built.

Mac Jones will play well for a period of time... and then right when you think he's turned the corner, he will revert to his regular self and do something stupid... we saw it how many times?
