Player Signing Pats Sign RB to PS

If Rhamondre Stevenson was a FA would we want him?

Corbin should be elevated to return kicks. (Of course, another PS player could be elevated instead of Corbin).

We have no one on the 53 other than Henderson and Jones, and I don't want Jones returning kicks.

I agree he's not a KR but I'm not sure why it has to be a RB doing that job.
We have two needs: #3 RB and KR

It would be good if these roles can be performed by only ONE active player.

I agree that we should sign a 3rd RB. He should be active.

I don't think that we have a KR on the 53 other than Henderson and Jones.

The patriots need better then "ok" which is what Corbin might be. They need another RB if they are getting average and below talent.

Unfortunately, you can't always get what you need when you need it.

The time to prepare the roster for injuries was the off-season. They went in the season knowing who their RBs were and knowing if either Gibson or Rham went down they'd have a big hole to fill and the best they came up with for Plan B was Terrell Jennings. To expect to find some hidden jewel on someone else's PS or to be lucky with some other team dumping a veteran RB is just hopeful thinking, and we all know hope is not a plan.

Lots of people said our starting talent was good but our big problem was depth. I think it's fair to say our starting talent is turning out better than planned, and even some of the role players are doing better than expected, but this is evidence that this was never a particularly deep roster.

It's interesting to me to see the team hasn't thrown draft capital and/or cap space at making a move for a more proven player, but there's still time between now and kickoff on Sunday.

I’m sure Larison was part of the preseason plan before injury.

And, we had 3 good RBs on the roster with Rham/Gib/Henderson.

You really think other teams have a quality 4th RB just sitting on their roster or PS?

I don’t think we failed to plan, but **** happens!

Or Kyle Williams. I'm sure they're trying out different people this week.
I have to think that there's someone here that can return kicks and one of these PS RBs has to be good enough to take some snaps. I'd rather see that than dump draft capital on a guy that is probably not exponentially better.

Jennings was our #4. Apparently, this plan wasn't quite good enough. If Jennings wasn't good enough to bring in when there is an injury, I would think that we should have added another RB from the beginning. Of course, many of us want to have 4 RB's on the 53 because of the possibility of one of the RB's getting injured.

In foresight and hindsight, a RB was a good use of Player 53 for the Game One Roster. Vrabel had little use for the roster spot other than to hold it open for Tavai. It could have been filled with someone expected to be cut when Tavai was activated.

To those who say that no one was available, consider that whoever we signed could have been working with the team for 5 weeks. Or, that player might have been replaced and we might have tried out several on the inactive roster or on the Practice Squad.

Hoping that no injury occurs was our plan, while keeping an empty spot on the 53, and while having much better uses for #16 Practice Squad roster spot. The strange thing for me is that Vrabel brought in lots of players at other positions on the Practice Squad. His keeping an open roster spot is just plain mismanagement. That player could have been waived if we wanted to sign someone else off waivers.

Of course, Vrabel could activate Jennings and elevate a KR, and we (and I) will just say that all the tryouts were simply due diligence. The plan all along could have been Jennings as the #3 when necessary, with us trying out KR's (much as teams might try out kickers if needed).

Or Kyle Williams. I'm sure they're trying out different people this week.

Good call, i saw a tweet last week where he shook a defender out of his socks in practice. I would like to see them finding more ways to get the ball in his and pop’s hands while they work on becoming a factor in the passing game.

Didn’t Kyle Dugger return kicks for us back in the day? It’ll give him something to do instead of just playing 1 snap on defense….
What a elephant in the room he's becoming: 1 measly snap @ 58 Mill. I know Vrabel wants' the choke out Wolf and Mayo.

Are we sure that Duggar ever fully recovered from his off-season ankle surgery?
Brenden Schooler had more snaps on Defense. What does that tell you??

Fair enough. We saw different players. Is he RB1? No. Is he a good Rhamondre replacement? Hell yes!
But we are not looking for a Rhamondre replacement, our need is a Gibson replacement. Don’t let your dislike for Rham confuse you. He’s still here, and will continue to be here regardless of who we sign right now.
