The chase for the 2026 first overall pick

A great place to get our future Safety, LB, or Interior OL.
Safety and interior OL are big needs but I think Edge rusher is the biggest by far. Josh Allen was able to throw from clean pockets far too often to those TEs.

Whats the deal with arch manning? I don’t follow college anymore but There was some tank for arch talk in some of my text groups with other teams fans… is he not supposed to declare for 2026 anymore?
Somebody please can Manning declare next year 2026??

He's just not ready. He's been pretty awful for Texas and needs at least one more year. The QBs to look out fr this year are Dante Moore (Oregon), Ty Simpson (Alabama) and Fernando Mendoza (Indiana).

Turns out he sucks. Which is why Quinn Ewers played all last year.

Thanks, i do remember now people talking about him and how bad he was week 1 . So more likely coming out in 27

Meh. Moore might be ok in the right system. Mendoza just strikes me as a college QB that won't translate to the pros. Simpson, I dunno, draft an Alabama QB at your own risk.

I think Beck and Nussmeier could be good pros if they don't have to start right away.

Beck has had too many chances to prove himself. He has looked better this year. Nuss has been pretty awful this year and looks more like a future backup than starter. Too many bad decisions.

I mean, Beck's my Heisman winner as we stand right now. All that kid does is win. A really good leader. Has a great arm, and has been a lot better protecting the ball (Having the Great Wall of Miami in front of him has helped quite a bit).

Nussmeier makes good checks, runs the offense, that LSU team has a shockingly low amount of offensive talent. More of a Purdy-ish prospect long term, which is why I think he could play.

After 5 weeks the Jets look like the worst team in the NFL. They might be looking at an 0-fer.

I have faith in the Jets to screw up getting the #1 overall pick. Or if they do, getting the wrong QB.

Ironically, Fields is playing better than expected and is far from the reason the Jets suck right now.

For right now I'm sticking with last week's prediction on the top (bottom?) five

Saints
Browns
Titans
Dolphins
Panthers
Jete?

That's because Chaisson was out and Keion White kind of sucks. Gotta get Chaisson back, he's the real deal.

Even before the season, I thought there was no way Manning would declare for the the draft in 2026. If you look at his uncles, both could have left school early but stayed all four years. I think they believe the extra year in college is crucial for a successful NFL career. And with the NIL, leaving early is less attractive than it was back when Eli and Peyton were in school.

But at this point, Arch clearly isn't ready to go to the NFL. He would be stupid to declare in 2026.

RIP to whichever of those QBs gets picked by the Jets.
If the Rats had ended up with Maye all the talk would be how Maye was failing and the Rats would likely need to move on sooner than they’d like.

There are a number of good QB prospects - not on the Maye level, but good: Fernando Mendoza, Dante Moore. LaNorris Sellers not ready yet but with physical traits. Those who like Baker Mayfield will love John Mateer. Ty Simpson, Garrett Nussmeier and Carson Beck all with promise.

Chicago-Washington-NE picked 1-2-3 in 2024. All have escaped the NFL cellar, Washington Kade it all the way to the NFCCG, and the Patriots look like a playoff team. Hitting on and developing a franchise QB is the surest recipe for success in the NFL. Teams will be desperate.

Mateer's a good pull.

Way too early prediction

Saints
Browns
Titans
Dolphins
Panthers
Patriots

Once again the Pats win their final game of the season, this time vs the Dolphins, pushing Miami into an earlier draft pick.
This is aging like milk

He's also out of contract at the end of the year. I also don't think he's the real deal. He's not really one to get quick one on one wins, but benefits from the pressure won by the interior.

Please God make it happen. We will have something special to enjoy for the rest of our lives.
