Will Campbell Watch

I wish @Ian had a 6-SBTrophy GIF for a post-video like this.

Awesome explanation from Tom. I can think of a couple posters who should watch it; but I fear their heads would explode and then we would never hear from them again. LOL.

RE: That Brady video.

Yeah, but Tom himself was also unique in his learning capability. PLUS, it wasn't like he was JUST getting the a former DC's insights. He was also working with Charlie Weis as his OC. He still had Drew years 1 and 2 teaching him the ropes.

IF Belichick was truly thinking that way, that a DC could be an OC because he was able to teach Tom... that is another HUGE error of judgement. Mac was not Tom in terms of learning. He didn't have a veteran starter ahead of him he could learn from for over a year. He didn't have a real OC or even a QB coach in his second. So.....I don't think that's any better a take on what Belichick was thinking. Unless you want him to look like he's lost it as opposed to just being stubborn.
The Bill pom pom wavers really still defending the MP/JJ hiring? Too funny. Lol. Lmao even.

Didn't think to look closely at Membou on MNF who was also linked to the Pats pre draft. I heard he was also having a really good start to his season. He would have to change positions to the left side of course so it's hard to compare him and WC.

Stud. Currently above average as a rook despite playing next to another rook and facing Watt and Crosby in 2/4 games. Should only improve moving forward

Andy Hart most definitely was one of the "'short armers" so he must have hated hearing that from Schlereth.

Good for Schlereth, a nice big **** your to all of those who went on and on about 1/3 of an inch. Bunch of ******s.

I agree it is hard to compare
I liked Membou. But liked WC much better because he can play LT
The unknown was too much of a gamble
Both had compatible measurables. Even though they made Membou sound like the much better athlete
Both are playing well at their perspective positions

He already looks better than Light or Solder when he took over for Light. He's already gone up against some of the best rushers in the NFL and held his own without having Tom Brady's quick release and decision making.

Bob Kraft is probably sweating at night thinking about potential extensions for Gonzalez, Maye and Campbell.

I think that he'd rather be worried about that than "When is this team going to be good again?"

Campbell is fine, idiots WANT him to fail so they can say "I told you so"
They don't care about the TEAM, they just want to be RIGHT.
This isn't new, old ********.

I doubt Kraft is sweating it. They are spaced nicely and he's seen what winning does for franchise value.

His hand work is great. Look at that tj watt highlight and campbell just bats away his hands with ease. When dudes get into his chest he just herds them away from maye.

RAS score showing up with great technique

It is early to annoint him as one of the best patriot OT's ever.

However, it probably isn't early to anoint him as our starter for at least the next 5 years.

If this is his floor I honestly think there's a chance for him to be one of the best OL of all time. He's been simply outstanding.

God only knows what his ceiling is or if he'll run into some Jason Taylor type kryptonite kinda DL but right now holy **** I'm so glad they disappointed me with this pick.

This, times a thousand. Pretty much the best way to start a rebuild is to find a QB and a LT, and it appears that we've done that. Add to that a strong HC and OC and things are looking really good. I hope our DC recovers fully and we can continue to improve the defensive side. Even our kicker looked decent yesterday, and the rest of STs looked even better.

The biggest need IMO is a WR1, a "security blanket" guy Drake can count on to be open, a guy the other team's defense needs to be afraid of. If we find one via draft or FA in the off season I will be extremely happy. Having such a guy will open up the run game a lot. Then, just a bunch of depth/talent upgrades. I think this staff has done a pretty good job at identifying them so far and weeding out the ones that don't fit their scheme.

They are probably going to have to go with a bunch of 2's and 3's, because there isn't going to be a WR1 in free agency, and in next years draft there doesn't appear to be an NFL caliber WR1 coming out. There are some good WR's, but nobody of Nabers caliber.

Isn't it just a pleasure to be speaking along this vein about a Draft pick, rather than all the overwhelming negative stuff that some posters revel in.

I think he's going to end up being a great tackle for many years to come. Even the best left tackles go through struggles their rookie season, and so far he's holding up really well. And this is just the beginning, he's known as a really smart and really coachable player, he was calling the line adjustments from left tackle at LSU, and that's never done. He's going to be so much better after a couple of years in their strength and conditioning program, and the pro coaching he will be getting. Despite all of the naysayers they nailed this pick.

Says the poster who wants us to think Thornton is an all pro now lmao yes you really can't make this stuff up...
Looks like TT finally figured out that matty P offense huh..
