Which makes not letting Chism play all the more mystifying, since he seemed to excel at finding the holes in zone defenses.
sigh

Hollins is much, much, much, much more valuable than Chism.

If we are to activate Chism, it would be in place of Douglas and he might get as many reps as Douglas.

McDaniels is more than really good, he's a 3-time SB winning OC (plus a 4th SB where Brady threw for 500 and they lost). He's tied with Andy Ried as the most prolific OC in the game. He's installed a new offense that nobody including the other coaches had any clue about, and has it humming. He's badly underrated/underappreciated here, and he's the main reason we'll be making the playoffs this year.
Through 4 weeks last year, the Pats were bottom 5 in terms of turning a first down into either a TD or another first down. I'm virtually certain they're in the top 10 right now, if not top 5. [There's an analyst who posts this stuff; when he updates his data, I'll try to post it here.]

Just listened to Vrabel's post-game. He's kind of an *******, isn't he? Good thing he can coach. If he wins, no one will care.

Jeebus! Be happy, can't you? Actually, he is a great leader and communicator. Didn't you like the way he shut down the crap about Terrell Williams, as if there was some connection between his life-threatening medical problems and whether the Pats beat the Cats? That's not being an *******, it's being a decent human being.

Josh McDaniels is really good. I thought the Kyle Williams run was a bad play call but he had so many great play calls today I can’t think of any others that were calls I could really question. He seems a bit giddy on the sideline lol

I Think the coaching on offense, across the board, is night and day from 2024 and making a huge difference

Absolutely agreed. I'll have to go back and re-watch, but my sense was that this was a masterclass of plays designed not to put the running backs under pressure or have the quarterback hold the ball too long. A great way to re-build confidence.

The two plays back-to-back of a jet-sweep followed by a fake jet sweep and run up the middle were brilliant. As was the Hollins touchdown. I don't know how much credit McDaniels gets for the pass to Diggs on the right sideline that went to his back shoulder, but it was a real NFL play (thrown to where the receiver was going to be if he ran his route right, not where the quarterback could see him).

Did anyone else notice that for the first time this season the Pats ran plays with a fullback out of the I? That was always a hallmark of McDaniels' offenses, but was abandoned during the Belichick/Patricia experiment.

It's such a pleasure to watch a well-coached team.

Aside from the inane ramblings of Mark Schlerelf really enjoyed the game yesterday for a change.. ST's were off the chart and it was the best complimentary football that have witnessed in a long time.
Drake Maye continues to impress.. He has had a 75%+ completion percentage and thrown 2+ TD passes in 3 consecutive games. The only player with a longer streak is #12 @ 4 consecutive games.
The cherry on top is the games are enjoyable to watch once again, particularly on offense which is varied and less predictable than it has been in the past couple of years.

And a lot more yards call it a hunch.

Diggs did a lot of damage based on snap count. Pop is looking for another scenario.

If the only folks he is being an azzhole to are the mediots; .... well I kinda sense his frustration and have absolutely 0 sympathy with the butthurt click-bait generating crowd.

If he is to his own players; I hope it is just to those deserving and they either get over it (after they fix whatever got him mad) or get the heck out of town.

I only see 2 white incomplete dots, but he was 14/17. Refresh me, what - where was the 3d incomplete?
Last TD drive. 2nd & goal at the 4. Incomplete to the right.

The throwaway in the red zone as he neared the sideline.

They won 42-13 and the game was over with 10 minutes left in the 3rd quarter…. And *that’s* your first comment? Come on man… Enjoy the win, it’s been nearly 3 years since we had a win like this!

He can't. Like Sam he's just a miserable human being. I would say he's the death of the party, but that would suggest he's been invited to one, and I don't see anyone being foolish enough to do that.

Panthers Fans after watching Maye compared to Young.

You didn't want Drake Maye, you wanted them to take Marvin Harrison Jr. like everything else you were wrong.

And here's the deal PF2, as long as a you are going to make miserable post after miserable post I am going to keep giving you ****. If you stop it then I won't.

Maybe you’re right. There are - IMO - very bad teams out there atm. It’ll be interesting to see if (1) this team trends upwards while (2) some of the struggling teams find their way.

Teams such as KC and CIN have the horses to rocket upwards. But will they, as they have serious issues as well ?
Bengals will have to thread a needle. They have a tough two-game stretch with last week and this week: Browning has to get acclimated to starting against Vikings defense and then Broncos. If they come out of this stretch with hopes intact and get a healthy Burrow headed into the thicket of the playoffs race, they could be making a run. They have to play near error free these next chunk of games to have a chance, and they've been pretty error prone in the Zac Taylor years.

Say what you want about Marvin Lewis, whenever he fielded a winning team, it was consistently more fleshed out across both sides of the ball. Taylor's teams seem very "awesome X, terrible Y"

The inactive Efton Chism outplayed Pop Douglas again. Pop being Active is almost a criminal offence.
Douglas played 8 snaps.

Pats need to be perfect to have a chance to beat Buffalo, it would be a HUGE accomplishment. No turnovers, less penalties, big game by everyone on offense. Odds of that happening 2 games in a row, kinda low. For a team that is 2-2 and beat themselves in both losses, beating Buffalo would be huge.

Josh Allen could have a bad game, and still win, that’s how great he is. And he has a slew of weapons Maye wishes he had. The Pats need their defense to have a massive game.

That being said, if they could keep it close, anything could happen. Go Pats !!!!
