The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

I think that's a big slice of it. Also his actions in the late period were, frankly, an insult to the fans, starting with putting the corpse of Cam Newton onto the field, followed by the MP/JJ/sons year. There's a lot of cosmic debt crashing down on Bill these days. Unfortunately UNC fans are paying some of the bills.
Insult to fans. You guys are so full of it.

Lombardi never had a losing season as an NFL head coach with two different teams.
LoL. Bill has 65 more wins without Brady then Lombardi did without Starr.

I never liked Bill's treatment of the media and fans. I have a friend who was in the media room and he had a lot of negative things to say about Bill's treatment of and lack of respect for the media. According to him, whenever Bill would refer to the media he'd point back over his shoulder to the media room and say "those assholes." Bill made it much harder for them to do their jobs. He also made it less enjoyable for my fandom.

I didn't have any problem with that. It's not his job to make things easy for the media. It's best for the team to say as little as possible to the media. Yet at the time I didn't realize he was doing it because he was an *******. I thought he was doing it out of strategy. Time is proving that he is at his core, an *******. The media thing is just one more reason to believe it.

I'll say again, he either should have given up everything but the x's and o's of coaching and let the team build a modern NFL personnel department so he didn't need to worry about it OR he should have rode off into the sunset with Brady. People would have forgiven a 1 or 2 down years to see them go out together.

We can see even collaborating with others while retaining veto power was too much for Bill to handle. Even his supporters like Fozzy admit he is not a man of principles. He chose to keep the gravy train rolling while he put MP/JJ/sons in place to give them a bite of the apple too, team be damned.

Yeah using Vince Lombari as a comparison is not the flex some think it is.

Oh he absolutely is a thin skinned a-hole. When in Cleveland Bill had the chutzpah to mock the coaching of Marv Levy who just coached his team to 4 straight Super Bowls. Keeping in mind Bill said this with no successful track record in the league as a HC and before he even knew who Tom Brady was. This is why even Levy’s wife despises him to this day.

No wonder he couldn’t stand Brady getting more credit for the dynasty than he got. A guy like that is too arrogant to let that slide.

That’s a pretty pathetic flex considering it took him 10 years longer than Lombardi to reach that “65 more wins” figure.

The cult will reach for anything these days. Understandable with their hoodied hero flaming out without Brady in NE and again at UNC and is now a national laughingstock.

Bill's been in %20 of every Super Bowl ever played hows that for a flex.

Why is it so hard to understand that Bill wanted to keep Brady. He didn't want to give him a 3 year extension before the 2019 season though.

Because, as usual, that's a lie. Belichick drove Brady out of town, and he did it on purpose. It was every bit as ignorant as Jerry Krause breaking up the Bulls was.

He wanted to keep him on his own terms and was willing to let it fall apart and lose him if he Brady didn't do it exactly his way. That's a pretty loose idea of "wanting to keep" someone. He had the means to keep him, he did everything to ensure he would leave.

When Joe Judge was coaching the Giants he said Brady was just an average quarterback at that point in his career, and had Belichick disagreed with that he would have given Judge the Charlie Casserly treatment and come out with a comment to the effect of " that's Joe Judge, he doesn't know what the **** he's talking about." Instead he said nothing. Why? Because he agreed with him.

I absolutely despise Judgr. Most think he was the source who told the ESPN writer that the Patriots coaching was so great they could win the SB with any top 15 QB. Delusional *******.

Had BB decided to pass on Tom Brady in 2000, how long does he coach the Pats for?

He's still doing the gravy train at UNC.

Shula has more wins than tiny Bill. Those throwing out number of wins as some kind of flex should keep that in mind.
