NFL GAME DAY DISCUSSION TNF watching: Seahawks @ Cardinals

These kick-off rules are becoming a bad joke

I think that the landing zone should be about 25 yards. If not 30.

20 yards when youre trying to roll an oblong ball is quite a small distance in my opinion...

It was a great kick... he just hit it soft.

Its like when you take a perfect eight ball shot in pool and can feel that little bit of pull back and not enough follow through to sink it.

The Cardinals gave them the eight ball right in front of the pocket...

Oof.

I love the new rules. It adds some real strategy to the game and as we've seen first hand big kick returns are fun. They aimed to create a play that doesn't just wind up a touchback the majority of the time and I think it's been a success.

As time passes they'll probably need to tweak it a little as teams try to work within the new parameters. Maybe the zone should be a little bigger or whatever they'll figure it out.

I can understand the kicking it short Is basically an onside... however if you kick it past the 50 yard line wtf does it matter to the other team?

Especially since you have to declare it for an onside and since its a regular kick everybody stands around like pop warner.

I think NFL kicking is one of the most underrated parts of the game...

Not because its spectacular to watch... but because its hard as hell to be good at.

Vinatieri will always be one of the best players new England ever had...

The fact hes not in the hall of fame for the pats is a shame.

He helped the Colts win in 06 and those terds still haven't recognized him either..

Vinatieri was a beast when the game was on the line.

I still think BB and Kraft were absolute idiots not signing him on a long term deal.

Brady should have seen the light way back then... on how super bowl caliber winners will be treated by the team for the long term.

The Cardinals uniforms were a mash up of a tortilla chip and the original Buccaneers uniforms.

The end zone looked awesome and they should have that every game.

I'd be shocked if Adam isn't this years vote. This will only be his second year of eligibility so it's not like he's been getting snubbed.

PS: I suppose I should look at who are the new eligibles.....is this Gronk's year?

Thats crazy... time flies... I didn't realize it hadn't been that long...

Thanks for the info...

This made me feel better.

Adam is 100 percent a hall of fame patriot...

And should also get a gold jacket as well...

Watching him in the early 2000s was really pretty special.

He literally kicked our way into a dynasty.

He also seemed pretty humble to have such a golden foot.

Thats what bothered me... I thought the unis were dirty...

Then I was like...they are playing on artificial turf...

They were ugly.

Are you talking the endzone view? I agree that they should have that for every game, I enjoyed seeing how the offense and defenses were lined up. For me it put into perspective just how much a QB has to mange, the pass rush comes quick. It would be even more fun to know the play before snap, but that won't happen.

I played a little QB in high school and am fascinated by the way some QBs make it look easy, because its not

I didn’t like it, but fully understood it..

He was getting older and his kickoffs were always short his last year here.
Pats are an outdoor team. There is a reason he only entertained signing w dome teams. He knew it too.

Maybe they could have had the punter do kickoffs, but V‘s FG range would have still been compromised: for 8 games in Gillette, 1in Buffy, plus jesters outdoor, albeit not as swirling wind as pats-bildos. + various other outdoor stadiums each year.
