Too bad Wallace is out, I was hoping he might see some snaps

Gotta be honest I've thought of this game maybe once this whole week and still am just kinda like.... Ehhhhhhhh w/e.

Something something close battle but Patriots can't make mistakes something something 2025 can't get here quick enough, etc.

Let’s see Maye elevate his team to a W.

Sure enough, I'll hop in the gameday thread, and sure enough, my feelings on the game will suddenly be the same as if I'm watching the Patriots playing for HFA in the playoffs. Somehow, just somehow, someone like Boutte will make a 50 yard catch and I'll say some incredibly stupid **** like "I mean we could have our own AB in the rough" - cue Corleone quote now.

If we're lucky, I might just flip flop on my Mayo position and invalidate any shred of credibility I have.

Ahh, the Sunday Delusion never fades

It's such a dilemma. Rumors are that Jonathan may be taking more of a lead role, and able to convince old Pops to axe Mayo if they lose out. I don't care about draft position, but I do care about not wasting any more seasons with "learning on the job" HC's.
I really want to see this young team build a couple surprise wins (today & Chargers at home are the only hopes of that).
But, IF losses actually demand firing Mayo - I'll take the bullet for the chance to get a legit HC with DC.

For whatever reason last night and this morning right before the game we got multiple reporters claiming “the Krafts STAND BEHIND Mayo”…

Not sure why they feel the need to say that now before they’ve even started the most difficult stretch of their season and may get blasted weekly.

I guess it’s better to say it now and then be able to point to these 4 games as to why you changed your mind later if need be.

It’s emotionally killing me.
I loved Mayo the Player, he wasn’t my choice or in my top 5 for HCs to nab, but when Kraft named him players celebrated, Hightower came to the staff I thought ok Kraft is crazy like a fox. Then the lack of free ageny, the head scratching coach hires, the amount of OCs who turned us down. The head scratching draft picks. Then Maye was clearly better than Jacoby in preseason yet Jacoby is named starter.
Then we see Ju Ju is cut ok good riddance but wait he lands in KC and he’s good enough to be on the field for the world champs.
Then Reagor shoots his way out of town and to the Chargers and looks at least useful. All while Polk and Baker are on milk cartons.
we heard all camp Thornton was kicking butt and tearing it up, then he doesn’t see the field at all, then cut. Maye makes plays throwing to towel boys, but the defense can’t stop a nose bleed. Penalties, undisciplined sloppy football, questionable statements, then recanting that statement.

This is what we replaced Bill for?
I thought we would attract good players and be more dynamic and aggressive on both sides of the ball.
This is the hallmark of a fired first year HC if he doesn’t win 2 of the last 4

I know this board has gone round and round on this and I hate losing too, but a win here does nothing for us. I want to see Maye continue to improve and stock up real talent.
