Tyquan Thornton thanks us for all the hate and doubt

Tuquan has 2 catches and this thread has 8 pages? Boney T sucks. The chiefs need any body they can find. He still can't catch.

Not really. One, he got hurt just falling to the ground. Now all of a sudden he isn't. So nobody really can know for sure.
Injury. His availability was his best ability. Now that he's suddenly available he's able to tap into his potential. I wouldn't say KC is suddenly an explosive offense with him.

He was a mid 2nd, not a top 25. He’s definitely looking like a mid 2nd right now.

He isn’t living up to being a mid second rounder. The guy is catching 50% of his passes. He has nine receptions in three games as a starter. His numbers are based that his few passes he catches are deep passes. 121 of his 171 yards this season came on three passes. People way overrating his production.

When Worthy and Rice come back, Thornton is going to be catching 1-2 passes a game at most.

His ceiling is Donte Stallworth in 2007. Stallworth was good, but his production in 2007 wasn’t worth a mid second rounder pick.

Thornton was a good pick after all. People can stop putting him on the list of horrible Patriot WR draft choices. He had great deep speed and I thought he was a decent route runner too.
39 Rec for less than 400 total yards over 3 years is a terrible pick forbthe 2nd rd. Not as bad as Polk but Nkeal Harry had more production in NE than Tyquan.

What he does beyond his time in NE is irrelevant to that fact he was a bad pick for this team

J

We can't draft WRs for ****, but, boy, can we make long threads about drafting WRs talking about the same **** over and over.
I certainly am not lamenting letting him go or the fact he is at least capable now that he's gone. I just get annoyed by these thin skinned, rabbit eared, athletes who react like that. Thornton sucked the whole time he was here and now he wants to be all "woe is me" on Twitter to Patriots fans?

Or that we didn't develop him and then gave up too soon on him. He'd look pretty good split out for us right now. He's starting and producing for one of the top 5 teams in the league.

Didn't develop him is a load of crap. This isn't HS football, this is the NFL where these professional athletes are paid millions of dollars and have access to the best fitness and personal trainers. Not getting developed is a lame excuse for someone who has all the opportunity and time in the world to perfect his craft.

Players can have limited skill sets that can work in different schemes and formations. Tyquan can work as the JAG speedster that the Cheifs have used with Mahomes like they did with MVD.

Tyquan is not scaring defenses and his snap count will drop drastically once Worthy and Rice return to the line up

One young kid in his early 20s. Who cares?

In the grand scheme of things no one really. In context to my fandom though it is annoying. Thornton acts like we were rooting for him to fail here.

My fandom is not that fragile.

He was 5 for 9 with 71 yards with Pat Mahomes throwing him the ball and Andy Reid calling his plays against a team with ****ty DBs.

JJSS (remember him?) had a similar YPC (13.8 vs 14.2) for the night.

KC is one of the few teams that can use a guy like him, and even then when they get back their two lead WRs he's gonna disappear.

We shoulda never drafted him, it was a waste of a 2nd round draft pick.

"Collaboration with veto power" = "veto power".

Thing did change because Bill's drafts sucked and Bob thought he should at least have some voices in his ear.

If this made the GOAT coach go ****, well, that's on Bill.

If he cared as much about his legacy as some here do, he would have found any loss of power unacceptable and resigned as HC of NEP.

Nothing was forcing him to stay, yet stay he did, which says it all.

Either he was okay with the arrangement or he was doing a cynical Bill-first money grab.

That's fine, but both of these opinions are unacceptable to the Cult of Bill.
Pretending the employee had more power over the owner is peak BB hater stupidity. But you guys excel at that...

He's a deep ball threat not good enough to make our team.

5 for 9 and 71 yards against a team with ****ty DBs and everyone loses their ****.

We should probably cool our jets a bit, but everyone loves to over-value the draft so we lose it if one of our exes has a good game.
He ranks 2nd in the entire NFL in Yards Per Reception, he has scored a long receiving TD in back to back weeks.

I know, it sucks for you biased types who said he was bad and irredeemable... seems all he needed was a good team around him.

Just say the words "I was wrong," and set yourself free.

Tyquan Thornton isn't some All Pro WR
If you have to preface your point with sensationalistic nonsense... you don't have a leg to stand on.

He doesn't have to become an All Pro to become a sold contributing role player. Literally nobody said "All Pro," nobody.

Agreed, I wish we still had him now. Drake Maye has the arm to reach him downfield.

He has the power every employee has when one finds the situation unacceptable: find a new job. He didn't. He chose to accept.

Lucky for him he found one of the few situations where he could fit in. Good for him. He'll be riding the pine soon when the less bony guys are back
