Tyquan Thornton thanks us for all the hate and doubt

Bob Kraft’s description of how personnel was gong to be handled at the owner’s meetings entering 2021.

Kraft said people would have more input, not that Belichick gave up final say on personnel. The Belichick defenders have always twisted this. Belichick had veto power on every pick he ever made.

Thornton has been decent this year. Let's not pretend he is finally living up to his draft selection. He is starting to be a decent #2/#3 receiver. Once Worthy and Rice are back, he is going to see his production drop exponentially.
He is just 9/18 in catches/targets. Serviceable maybe but "great" lol no.

Then why did the Patriots drafts mostly suck for the decade prior to 2021. It wasn't a collaboration that made Belichick pass on Lamar Jackson. It wasn't a collaboration that made Belichick select N'Keal Harry over AJ Brown or Deebo Samuel. It wasn't a collaboration that made Belichick trade down for Cole Strange when most other teams had Strange as a third day pick. It wasn't a collaborative that made Belichick select Dominique Easley, Sony Michel, Malcolm Brown, or Issia Wynn in the first round.

You want to give Belichick a free pass on all the mistakes you can try to pin on others. Yet, you never give him credit for his disasters.

Fact is, if Belichick didn't was against Mac Jones, he would wouldn't have taken him. No way would he have put up with Kraft forcing him to take a QB in the first round he didn't want. It may or may not have been his first choice. But there is zero chance he didn't want Jone and he was forced to take him. Nor would Kraft force a player on him after the Parcells/Terry Glenn fall out.
They didn’t, that was morons on fan sites like this one saying so. The N’Keal Harry draft sucked because they were reaching for need. Before that they found a lot of good players. More importantly they built Super Bowl winning rosters.

If Bill had complete power, then Bob said that was changing… why do the BB haters here insist he still had complete power?

Oh yeah… agenda, bias… Bill hurt Tom’s feelings or something.

They didn’t
lol

Is that why Bill whiffed on every single WR he drafted other than Deion Branch and lucking into Edelman?

He’s a deep ball threat… learn the game.
Tyreek Hill is a deep ball threat and his catch % is a lot better than Thornton's.

Bill once again reached for a barely serviceable at best player, let's not pretend he's anything more than what he is.

Tyreek Hill isn’t a deep ball threat, he’s a guy you get the ball to and he creates YAC.

After Jameson Williams at #1, Thornton ranks #2 in the entire NFL in Yards Per Reception.

Again…’you don’t understand football. Stick to feelings…

Let's face it. In the second half of the dynasty years, Brady covered up for a lot of mistakes by Belichick the GM.

Look at the drafts. In 2019, the best pick Belichick made was Jake Bailey in the fifth round. And he was only good for a couple of years. In 2018, the Pats had two first round picks and they walked away with two completely average at best players in Wynn and Michel meanwhile passing on Lamar Jackson, Nick Chubb, and Calvin Ridley to name a few.

Strange selections no pun too.

He is also a deep ball threat. So is Chase, another guy with a far superior catch % than Thornton.

And even if Thornton is as good as you want to believe he is Bill failed miserably to develop him like he did at a lot of things once Brady left.

Bill whiffed badly on every single WR he drafted other than Deion Branch in 2002 and lucking into Julian Edelman. That's quite impressive.

I am not a Belichick hater. But I can admit he lost it his last years with New England.

Kraft never said Bill lost his power. He always had final say on personnel. Belichick would have quit otherwise.

What was happening like with Harry, people's input was being ignored and Belichick was just selecting his own people without input.

Besides, Belichick scouting system was antiquated. It needed a massive overhaul. He never believed in analytics for scouting. The good drafting teams live by it like the Eagles.

I remember Tyquan Thornton. He couldn't catch a cold when he was a Patriot.

I'm glad our Scouts are banned from his program.

Same. But I'm amused by the lengths his cult will go to defend this guy. They're ridiculous.

Yeah. Bill was GM and it was literally his job on personnel. Any collaboration can say whatever they want, Bill always made the final decision. That includes the Mac Jones pick.

Nah…. those 2014-2019 defenses were among the best in the league. The offensive lines and weapons were very good.

You don’t win Super Bowls with bad teams and superstar QB’s… that’s a fanboy myth.

Just say the words, “I was wrong.”

It’s okay, you won’t burst into flames.
