OT: Brady booth-gate

Brady is done for me now that he is taking the Saudi money to help them divert attention away from the 9/11 lawsuit that the victims just got a green light to continue with. Its not like he is some broke guy who is trying to feed his family. That memory of the Superbowl with U2 singing at half time after 9/11 is like a slap in the face now. Unrelated, Brady also looks like Bruce Jenner about 3 months before his announcement.

That last sentence in particular is electric. If I was drinking water I might have spit it out.

Does anyone still believe Brady is "a Patriot for life," as he proclaimed during his Hall ceremony last summer? He now bleeds silver and black.

@signbabybrady

Your dislike emoji doesn't discount the truth of this. I happen to dislike it too. No one was a bigger Brady fan during his playing days here than yours truly, including that final year of him petulantly going through the motions. I blame Kraft/BB 75 percent and Tom himself 25 percent for how things ended.

I also blame both Kraft AND Brady for this Raiders minority ownership nonsense. RKK need not have stooped to a Mark Davis-level publicity stunt to hire Tom in an advisory capacity. That might've been all it took vs. taking his money for a fraction (symbolic) ownership stake. But that didn't happen.

So then we have Brady disingenuously telling a stadium full of admirers last summer "I'm a Patriot for life" and tutoring Raider players on the Vegas practice field within days of his Foxboro statue unveiling. If you don't think this "Patriot for life" was pulling for a Raiders win in the season opener, guess again. And if Las Vegas ever meets New England in Foxboro for a playoff game, don't expect Tom to show up in Patriots gear sitting alongside Bob.

As a Pats fan it sucks and is practically impossible to reconcile as things currently stand. There is no denying the fact that Tom Brady's foremost loyalty lies with another team.

Is Michael Jordan no longer associated with the Bulls?

I really can't believe people care about this, but I find myself saying that a lot lately.

Michael Jordan is not associated with the Bulls in any official capacity. He is a minority owner of the Charlotte Hornets. Suffice to say his first loyalty is to Charlotte, not Chicago.

It's a "fan" thing, not rooted in logic. One needs to be emotionally invested to understand it.

This may be one of those conspiratorial plants into the media frenzy - by Brady...
So he can protect his pride and "mutually" step out of his broadcast contract as if it's pressure from the league and to "protect the integrity" yada yada.
I personally don't think he's bad on the broadcast, but he's definitely not natural and just doesn't sound comfortable.

In tunes hypothetical playoff scenario....he's right. It's hard to be a "Patriot for life" if you are on the other teams sideline rocking their gear. Personally I don't care it's his life and has zero effect on the game but I understand some people will call it a bad look because I would wish he'd be sitting with Kraft for the mojo.

There's a big difference between being "associated with" a team, which obviously peoples first thought of Brady is in a Patriot uniform winning super bowls, and being that team for life. I never bought that line from Tom. Between the Bucs, the raiders, the entire TB12 business and trying to get his team mates to join that instead of listening to coaches, Tom has made his status as a mercenary salesman well known and he says what he needs to when he needs to say it. Patriot fans have to be some of his best customers so gotta keep them worshiping me.

That is not the guy who 100% of the time wants what's best for the New England Patriots. He hasn't been that guy in over a decade and it makes me sad because early Brady was. I just look at early commercials Sirius with his favorite receivers, Visa with the 5 layers of protection both of which were about team and getting his team mates involved. Versus now he shills out to whoever pays him to say look at me I'm Tom Fing Brady buy my ****.

Players and fans aren't the same. I assume Vince probably sees himself as a Patriot and Texan for life but since he's not a QB and Houston isn't a team you previously dislike you don't care.

I fully believe that Brady will always carry NEP in his heart and will always appreciate the fans in this region. If that's not enough for you then expect some more dislike emojis.

There's only one thing Vince is for life.

Brady isn't bad in the booth; he is just mediocre. I was hoping he would dive deeper into what is going on pre-snap and what he thinks the defense may be doing. Basically, an X's and O's breakdown and explaining how a QB sees the field. Instead, he just states the obvious, like pointing out how the QB needs to watch for Micah Parsons coming off the edge on 3rd and 7 or how a guard got beat on his block. Brady has always been a little stiff and forced behind the camera because he always seems like he is protecting an image, but he always comes across as some sort of AI Madden commentator with canned responses rather than actual analysis.

He's been markedly better this season in my opinion.

That is what you WANT to believe, contrary to recent evidence. It's like saying your ex-wife still carries you in her heart after getting remarried.

Tom probably does appreciate the fondness New England fans hold for his playing days here, but unlike Edelman, Gronk and others, that sentiment isn't demonstrably reciprocated. Brady now is a fully invested Las Vegas Raider and you can bet he cares more for Raider fans than Pats fans, it's sad to say. Hell, the guy confers three times weekly with OC Chip Kelly and is on the freakin' headset during their games.

Beyond that, this pretty much says it all:

The first thought that came to mind when I saw this was a young Al Davis.

I do think he has improved. Last year he wasn't even mediocre he was below average but hopefully he is getting more comfortable and be quicker to offer analysis and insight. Last year he would just leave dead air sometimes so at least he isn't doing that.

Lol SB1 hates Brady and Bill. He must be a really fun guy to hangout with.
