Yes Davis played well and I also thought Marcus Jones played well. Other than that, generally speaking, Miami was able to do whatever they wanted and drive down the field at will. That's not going to be nearly good enough against good teams.

I disagree with that. The last 2 drives of the first half they shredded us.

In the second half their offense scored only 6 points.
In the second half the ran 37 plays and gained 153 yards which is just 4.13 per play, a very low number.
They had 2 FG drives to start the half and then went 5/16 and punt. 9/35 and int and 7/23 turnover on downs.

It may not have looked pretty but over all it was a good second half of defense.

Not at will. They only scored two TDs on offense. There’s stuff to improve but don’t forget, we had a part time DC in charge and I thought the 2nd half adjustments were good - see the improved 2nd half pass rush and the nullification of the outside run.

This is a new defense, a new scheme and missing its best player. The defense is far from perfect but so long as we’re improving I’m happy. I don’t expect the ‘85 Bears. The linebackers do need to step up though.

?? Why wasn't that underthrown Football to T Hill picked off?? We had Two DB's there; including the Taller Austin who made a midget adjusted and make the catch. Gonzo would picked that off. Austin showed poor awareness there: I hope Vrabel chewed him out.

Because Austin was beaten and chasing Hill with his back to the ball. Hill slowed down for the throw and Austin ran right past him. The error was much earlier than when Hill slowed.

Imagine having Hill and Waddle who are 2 of the top WRs in the NFL and still losing? Archane is a good RB too. Tua is being paid like super star QB.

Oh good I thought it was just me. I was thinking interception on that play too and somehow Hill adjusted and our 2 defenders just looked lost. If either of them played the ball they probably prevent a catch maybe even get a pick.

It was just Austin, Woodson had to come from the other sideline and just couldn't get there in time. I agree Gonzo picks that but then doubtful Gonzo is beat that badly. Austin was beat so badly he was concentrating on catching up to Hill and never looked back for ball.

It was by far his worst play of the game. Tua threw us 5, we only got 2.

Yess: taking away your best or half of the Field = Advantage Defense. Gonzo is solid: he plays both the Run and Pass effectively.
