Penalties vs Miami

The Chiefs got screwed (about time) like the Ravens did vs the Bills om SNF.

The Eagles did a Tush Push on 4th and 1 and it did not appear that Hurts made it. KC would have gotten the ball back. The Refs signaled 1st down anyway and immediately spotted the ball for the next play. Reid was going nuts on the sideline.

It appeared that the Ravens got screwed when they downed the ball at the Bills 1 yard line, but the Refs said that the Ravens player arm touched the goal line. That was not clear IMO, but the Refs rushed to judgment calling it a touchback.

In both instances the team that benefited by the call won.
yeah, i'm fine with the chiefs one... and the ravens call was meaningless amidst their dismantling of the browns...

But your point stands, the reffing is bad, and has been for awhile now...

The Ravens call was vs the Bills which matters if the Ravens have to go to Buffalo in the postseason because Buffalo has homefield.

The lack of consistency in officiating is maddening. Some games barely anything is called and yesterday there seemed to be a flag on every play. I suppose the officials could argue that the players are inconsistent ... and they have a point there.

in that case, enough bad calls can't be called on the ravens... consider it to be make-up calls for all the ump ball joe dpi calls they got with flacco under center

The Pats had 15 penalties called against them vs Miami... One was off set, and two were declined... 12 accepted penalties...

Of the 12 that were accepted, you have:
2 special teams penalties (Borregales & Hawkins)
8 offensive penalties (Campbell, Wilson, Moses x3, Henry, Henderson x2)
2 defensive penalties (Ponder, Landry)

the penalty log:
1. Penalty on NE-K.Chaisson, Defensive Offside, offsetting, enforced at MIA 30 - No Play.

2. PENALTY on NE-W.Campbell, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at NE 33 - No Play.

3. Penalty on NE-K.Chaisson, Defensive Offside, declined.

4. PENALTY on NE-T.Henderson, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at MIA 43 - No Play

5. PENALTY on NE-M.Moses, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at MIA 43 - No Play

6. PENALTY on NE-E.Ponder, Illegal Block Above the Waist, 10 yards, enforced at NE 27.

7. penalty on NE-T.Henderson, Offensive Holding, declined.

8. PENALTY on NE-J.Hawkins, Offensive Holding, 5 yards, enforced at NE 9 - No Play. (punt)

9. PENALTY on NE-H.Landry, Defensive Offside, 5 yards, enforced at NE 29 - No Play

10. PENALTY on NE-T.Henderson, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at NE 27

11. PENALTY on NE-J.Wilson, Offensive Holding, 10 yards, enforced at NE 25 - No Play

12. PENALTY on NE-M.Moses, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at NE 13 - No Play

13. PENALTY on NE-H.Henry, Illegal Shift, 5 yards, enforced at NE 24 - No Play

14. PENALTY on NE-M.Moses, False Start, 5 yards, enforced at MIA 30 - No Play

15. PENALTY on NE-A.Borregales, Kickoff Short of Landing Zone, placed at MIA 40.

not really concerned with the Special Teams & Defensive penalties... am concerned with the calls on offense though... 5 of the 8 penalties on offense were on the line... usually OL penalties are drive killers... its important that they get these under control... Last week i think thelinewas limited to two penalties (campbell & wilson)... Both were repeat offenders this week...

The biggest change of form came from RT Morgan Moses... he had the flag dropped on him three times today... All from the shotgun... last week he had a clean game... is this just an instance of being on the road, maybe it was a bit louder than it was in week 1, or is this something we need to worry about moving forward? or is it 'eh, **** happens' and there is no need to worry unless it happens again...

.
Nine of the penalties were, in my opinion, lack of concentration - the short kick, the false starts, the defensive offsides. The two holding calls on Henderson were his trying to keep Drake Maye from getting sacked. He'll figure that out, but I'd rather take the penalty than a violent hit on the QB. The special teams block in the back by Ponder is one of those chaos plays that happens on every punt/kickoff return. What I do see here are no - zero - players losing their composure. No unnecessary roughness calls or out-of-bounds late hits, or roughing the passer. They can cut the pre-snap stuff in half with a bit more focus.
