The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

I think this was one of the biggest problems Belichick faced in the last 4-5 years he was here. His generation of coaches had retired. Younger coaches he brought in had moved on to better positions with other teams, and the next generation of coaches saw younger head coaches they wanted to work for, and probably didn’t want the 20 hour days Belichick expected them to put in. And I don’t think Stephen was a bad hire, I think he’s a good young coach with a bright future, if dad doesn’t poison it for him.
BBs biggest problems were when Wolf was hired in 2020 and Groh was promoted in 2021.

It's odd how younger talent not his children or Lombardi's children or not adjacent to his tree didn't see an upside in learning from the Great One or his Disciples err entourage. Maybe UNC should have asked some of them why they didn't want to be a part of Bill's staff before they bought into the Fifty Million Dollar Man. They might have been told their opinion is that the game passed him by some time around 2019 if not earlier.

I really don’t have an answer for it, other than what I already said, but I think the other side of his reputation, I.e…that he’s a serious ****, and wants them to work outrageous hours, could have played a role in it. But I’m also guessing that there are numerous head coaches with similar demands and ****ish reputations.

It also seems a lot of coaches off his coaching tree such as BoB, JMac, Judge and Fat Matt did poorly as head coaches. Daboll is still around yet his record is 18-32-1 which stinks. Google suggests that coaches from his tree have a cumulative record of 219-306-2 and only three total postseason wins across 10 former assistants as of late 2023. So there's not really a track record of success that one can hope to be a part of.

True, but his front office guys have had some success, e.g. Jason Licht.

AD Bubba no doubt has regrets. And I bet Kraft doesn’t…

Bro there is no evidence that would convince you because it makes Bill look bad so you won't believe it unless he directly says it. You already proved that. You just aren't credible as a good faith actor here. Nobody really cares what you do and don't believe because you live in delusion to cope with your feelings. That's what your rep has devolved to here. I tried to be tame with you for awhile, but you clearly went off the deep end and made yourself a spectacle here and have problems with damn near everyone

He doesn’t even believe it when Belichick says it. Belichick crapped on the Maye pick the moment it was made and to this day signbabybill pretends Belichick would have taken Maye at 3.

My wife was a professor at Richmond for thirty years. I will be rooting for the Spiders.

I planned on rooting for UNC this season, even thought about buying a UNC hat, but now that Belichick is lying about the franchise and blocking their scouts I’ll be rooting against them.

Your over exaggerating and ignoring that BB wasn't going to give his replacements credit. Yup I think Maye still would have been the pick. But it's looking like Nix, Pennix, and JJ would be interesting options too.
So, it’s ok for you to use this forum to **** on people all day every single day, but it’s not ok to give you **** for that? Good luck with that.
You **** on Bill all day every single day I'd think you'd be able to take it better.

I think Kraft fired the first shot/s in a documentary.
It feels like something more than just the documentary. Maybe just the firing and the way he was replaced before even being fired or maybe there has been more than just the documentary but this feels a little bit more than just media comments. There seems to be more than we know.

If Maye struggles the cult will change their minds and pretend they knew McCarthy or someone else would have been Bill’s pick all along. Lol
