He hired Mayo two years ago - first timer, no experience. Got burnt.

This year he hired Mike Vrabel - someone he knew, was comfortable with, who had experience running a franchise.

Nobody knows why Kraft panicked, signed Mayo and put in the successor clause. He never showed anything in NE that he was a can’t miss coach. He could’ve had Vrabel last year.
