The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

UNC will end up what they've always been thru the Belichick era a team that goes 6-6, 7-5 with maybe an 8-4 thrown in.

They didn't hire him to win a Natty they hired him for the national coverage and brand factor brought to their program so they're going to be included in the SEC expansion.ft

Eventually the college football landscape is going to end up with 2 power conferences and the rest left for dead.

They won't be a total disaster and they won't be great, year 1 will be the worst year cause they're gonna throw money at it and he's gonna get some players in years 2,3 but they will only ever be pretty good they will never be a playoff team.

If he's there for 3 years and goes something like 21-15 but they get into the SEC they will consider that money well spent.

That seems like some interesting and helpful information.

Bill was never going to let the Dynasty documentary go, that relationship is severed for good.

Bill won't even show up to Roberts funeral, we know who Bill is when it comes to people he feels wronged him look at Mangini he knew him since he was basically a ball boy and in one day he was dead to him and they've never even talked since.

“It’s clear that I’m not welcome around their facility,” Belichick said. “And so they're not welcome at ours. Pretty simple.”

What a jackass.

Bill was a sympathetic figure to most people here after the dynasty hit piece and he's turned that into coming across at just a pathetic one.

Bill acts like he wasn't the highest paid coach in the NFL for about 15 years and had total control of a franchise that basically no one else had, he has no one to blame but himself for his own demise.

Kraft should probably let him back in.

@signbabybrady Was Bill replaced with a double here?

Edit: wow, you already beat me to it

It’s pathetic. He should be leveraging his contacts here - what few remain - to sell his players as NFL prospects. That’s one of the reasons Saban was so successful. Saban worked his ass off to get his players into the NFL - and that includes more than one Saban player being drafted by Belichick.

That’s what Belichick should be doing with Vrabel or even Josh.

Would be a nice storybook ending but at this point, it’s not looking like that will ever happen. I’m happier Brady came back.

No defense. He has turned super senile and reduced his stature manifold. Too petty . Great coach while he had Brady.

Without Brady, just a middling coach with a large ego. I am thankful kraft fired him in 2024. Should have been done in 2023 .

You can see why Bill forced Kraft's hands in 2024. If this is his behavior now, think how it would have been during post Brady years with 6 rings . I doubt if he listened even a wee bit to Kraft's or scouts. My way or highway and the draft results showed .

Thanks, but we're just Doing Our Jobs

I was originally going to avoid the B vs B "discussion" but this thread is too good.

You aren’t exposing anyone. Belichick is an *******, and he seems to be very proud of that. If he wanted to be a good guy he would act the way he does when he’s doing the shows on NFL history, where’s he’s as amicable as can be, which means that his dour ******* behavior that he shows the rest of the time is a conscious choice on his part.

The person driving all of the antagonism is you and your ridiculous excuses and arguments. 99% of Patriot fans think Belichick is the GOAT, but that’s not good enough for you, instead they have to agree with every idiotic thing you say and position you take or they are haters. I have seen many ridiculous posters onthis site over the years but only 1 or 2 have been as insistent and absurd as you are. This thread would have died long ago if you had stopped playing “ me against the world,” and let it die.

Here she is now...

Bill Belichick is, in my opinion, the best coach in the history of team sports. Period. Having said that, he's an ******* and has been since his days in Cleveland (probably since he was a little boy). I roll my eyes at the hero worship in American society, whether it's Elon Musk or Lance Armstrong or others, who publicly undergo this perceived transformation from Godlike figures to Villians, while being entirely consistent in their behavior the whole time. Bill's behavior is not surprising; he's been an ******* from the beginning. He dumped his wife for a secretary who worked for the Giants, then he dumped her for a child. He's gone after anyone who questions him. He has been an ******* to the media, to other coaches, to Brady, to the league (Spygate was arrogance, not abrogation of the rules), to anyone who questions his behavior. We all forgave/explained away his behavior as amusing/gamesmanship/etc. because he was so exceptional in his ability and we loved rooting for a winner. Now that he's no longer "delivering the goods" we're shocked by his behavior. Lance Armstrong is the same. He was obviously cheating right along (and willing to destroy the lives of good people who told the truth) but we loved him for being a winner, until we decided we no longer did. Elon Musk has been both a visionary and an ******* right along as well. Every time a see a bumper sticker on some Tesla saying I didn't realize he was an ******* when I bought this car, I want to ram it with my own car (no better example of being both rich and stupid at the same time). Trying to justify Bill's behavior has always been a challenge (Oh, he's really funny when you get to know him") and now is no different. The only change is that he's no longer our coach and he's 73 years old and just like the rest of us as we age, no longer at the top of his game. I am incredibly appreciative of all the moments he provided for me as a fan, but he's a prick and has has been from Day One.
