Maroney gave them some great games in 2007. They wouldn't have beaten the Chargers without him. He served. He is counted!

I was pumped when we got Maroney because the Colts wanted him. Thought we finally had a feature back at his prime again ala Curtis Martin. Then Addai ends up the better pro and Maroney becomes a forgotten footnote in Patriot history. Not as bad as Chad Jackson though ugh.

Maroney was worse than Jackson for me because Chad never showed anything.
Maroney looked like he was going to be a player, got me really excited.
Then after his rookie year he decided he wanted to dance behind the LOS on every carry and lose all the decisiveness he display as a rook.

How it ended was a pity, but I wouldn't be ashamed of a Maroney jersey.

I saw him at my very first Patriots live game (in 2006) and he was the kick returner. The person I was with said "He runs angry", and that put it perfectly: he actually looked for defenders to hit as he ran.

If you go back and look at some of the 2007 games (especially the playoffs) he was still terrific. I think that the problem was simply that he got injured too much. It happens.

I'm going to the game, but my Bruschi jersey is in the UK, so it's Malcolm Mitchell or Steve Grogan. I think Mitchell has it.

I often think about Mitchell and just how would he would have been had it not been for injuries.

Just a fluff thread to kill more time. I typically wear a Jersey every game day whether at a the game, at the sports bar or in my recliner. I am still debating on which jersey to start us off on the right track. I am leaning towards my red throwback John Hanna jersey as I just feel like it has all the luck. Its is either Hanna or my favorite Bruschi jersey that I wore when I got to meet Teddy. What will you guys be sporting for week 1? Sidenote...I have an away Curtis Martin jersey that my son swears is cursed because if I wear it we lose, no joking. I found it in a thrift store years ago and bought it for like $10. I was giddy as it was mint.....little did I know it was cursed

It is time for another jersey but I am not sure who I should snag next (sorry I cant do Brady or Gronk...its just too played out right now). In the running is Law, Seymour, Edelman, Slater. Or do I go new school and consider Maye, Henderson or the CHISM?

Oh...The wife has a Mac Jones jersey that I would consider sending to a fan in need if they pay for shipping
