The Practice Squad list

Would be nice to add a developmental OL, someone like Marcus Bryant if we didn’t already have him.
Does Conley count for you?
Good question. I have liked Conley in theory because of his versatility in that he can play OG or OT, but I haven’t seen him play, so I don’t know if he is, ummm, any good in practice Has anyone watched him carefully? Is he a diamond in the rough with good future potential? If he could improve it sure would be nice to have a jack of all trades versatile backup offensive lineman.

As much as everyone wants to see Practice Squad as development program or stash the talent hideout the history says its mainly just what the name says - a practice squad. So year in year out the majority of practice squaders are resigned back to their original teams and one of the reasons is familiarity to keep the flow of practice going esp in days going into the season.

Let me know when the Keystone Wheelchair Cop gets resigned.
Stop.

It is hard to believe that no player from another team is better than the guys the Pats had in camp. The Pats drafted well this year, so they must have recent quality evaluations on the other players. Can not get too sentimental.
Well said. Is why I'm so eager for for week 1 to come. National sports writers seem to have more faith and belief than local ones. Just goes to show what a few ****ty seasons can do to a franchise.

Exactly. It would be nice to have a more fixed developmental system, but as it stands it doesn’t really facilitate that well. Neither does the nature of the game/NFL.

No teams wanted to take out special insurance for people in wheelchairs....

I would have liked to see them being in more guys from other teams, e.g.. Willie Lampkin, but I also understand them sticking with guys they have had in camp, as they are familiar with the systems if they need to be activated.i think they may be using it more as an extended bench than for future player development this year. Once their depth is better they can look at bringing in guys who might have higher ceilings, but don’t know their systems.
