I read somewhere that ravens have 74% of team composition of 53 players coming in from their own draft . I e only 26% are players drafted by other teams . Contrast that with pats probably 60-70% are drafted by other teams.
Whether a player comes from the draft or FA (drafted by other teams) makes no difference after the first 4 years.

Personally, Minor and Lindstrom shouldn't have been re-signed. I'd rather have Lampkin and move Brown down to the PS.
Agreed. It looks like we signed our own drafted players, not the best players available. The guys that want to "rate" drafts should be happy, but it should not matter if the Pats or another team draft a player, we should put the best possible players on our PS.

Interesting, we can take a look at this. I assume they’re counting UDFAs as draftees.

QB (3): Maye, Dobbs, DeVito
RB (3): Stevenson, Henderson, Gibson
WR (6): Diggs, Hollins, Douglas, Williams, Boutte, Chism
TE (3): Henry, Hooper, Westover
OL (9): Campbell, Wilson, Bradbury, Onwenu, Moses, Bryant, Brown, Lowe, Wallace
DL (5): Barmore, Williams, Tonga, Farmer, Pharms
EDGE (5): Landry, Chaisson, White, Jennings, Ponder
LB (4): Spillane, Elliss, Gibbens, Mapu
CB (6): Gonzalez, Davis, Jones, Austin, James, Woods
S (5): Dugger, Peppers, Woodson, Hawkins, Pettus
ST(4): Borregales, Baringer, Ashby, Schooler

I’m counting 29 in bold who are home-grown (giving benefit of doubt on Pharms - undrafted, UFL for a few years). 54.7% drafted/post-draft signings by Pats, 45.3% from other teams.

I counted 28 because Westover was on Seattle’s PS before signing with the Pats.

There’s several guys that “technically” spent a couple months to a year on some other team’s PS but never did anything before coming here

Titans cut Corey Levin today to make room for their waiver claims; had a couple of stints there under Vrabel. Wonder if they’d have interest in him at this point?

But you would prefer players who have been here since June for continuity, especially when it's a new staff with so much player turnover.

Vrabel's trying to build something, and it's a legitimate criticism that he was too fast with the hook on guys like the Andrews, and a few others, but I don't blame him for sticking with the group here since day one, if he hasn't given up on them.

I made the mistake of tuning into Felgar and Mazz in the car and that big bald douche bag Jim Murray opens the show by stating that KB’s trade request was a major red flag for the overall health of the Patriots organization, because if he felt good about the quarterback and the direction of the team that he would want to stay. All three of those boobs completely ignored the multiple reports from earlier in the day by credible sources, including Reiss, stating that the only reason that Bourne made the initial 53 was the potential of a trade with Minny.

Bourne and his agent likely knew that he was going to be cut if that deal fell through and so they put that report out about him requesting his release before he was officially released, to try to save face….which is why Vrabel made that statement comparing it to getting dumped by a girlfriend. It’s so pathetic the way that they blatantly just manufacture controversies, in order to fill air time.
I CAN NOT STAND Jim Murray.

I still think they need another backup G. Levin is a backup at C/G. Won't hurt to have a tryout even though Vrabs knows him. He's 31.

Levin appeared in 10 games during the 2024 season as a rotational center, making one start. On March 14, 2025, Levin re-signed with the Titans on another one-year contract.

On Swinson…I’m just recalling a few reports before the draft that this year’s crop, more than any other, had little talent in the back end that differentiated.

Meaning, it was subjective on who was a 5th rounder and who was a UDFA.

Seems a LOT of draft picks were waived this year compared to other years across the league which would support that teams were sort of throwing darts on day 3.

Couldn’t disagree more. The top of the draft didn’t have the “ blue chip” talent it normally has but overall it was a deep draft.

Here is the PS so far i think.... correct me if wrong. Keep in mind you can have 16 (17 with an international path player... which i think they will do for sure as they had someone like that who was promising on the the roster before cuts.

Terrell Williams - RB
CJ Dippre - TE
Gee Scott - TE
Alec Lindstrom - C
Mehki Butler - G
Jack Conley - IOL

Truman Jones - DE*
Bradyn Swinson - DE
Cam Reilly - LB
Miles Battle - CB
Brandon Crossley - CB

Thoughts... Swinson, Cam, Williams, Jones and Reilly are moves i really like.

Having the 3 stooges of OL back... IDK. I guess they know the system, but they couldn't do better?

Also i guess i am okay with bringing the TEs and CBs back along with adding Woods... but not of them scream particular good prospect to me.

Guys i think we will sign/hope we do... Jones - DE. David Olajiga and Jahvaree Ritzie, - DT both make sense.. Webb at WR be fine..

But i think there are other good options they are letting slip through they shouldn't.

Edit: Correction! Charles Woods and Tommy Devito on 53. So that brings it to 11* on the PS.

Well done. Thanks.

"After 4 years" most coaches are lucky to stick with a team for that many years. The draft matters!

I'm guessing they kept him hoping to find a trading partner but couldn't or couldn't find one to their liking. Per overthecap.com, only a $2.8 dead money hit.
I think he would’ve gone to Minnesota if they hadn’t struck the deal for Thielan.
