7-8 wins. Too many question marks to go higher. Window not open yet they still need more talent and a lot more depth.
6 wins. They still have big question marks at almost alll positions. This is year 1 of 3 year rebuild.

I dropped from 10 earlier in the off season to 6-8. I can't explain it, but training camp/preseason just didn't seem good.
I didn’t like seeing the Giants 2nd and 3rd stringers light our backups up either. Yes it’s preseason but that’s a sign of a team that still has little talent at that level of the roster and they’re not where they need to be. Sounded to me like Vrabel acknowledged that himself.

Anything is possible. But, objectively, when you look at some of the players they retained…. They don’t remind me of 2004, nor 2016…

So explain how you know they are not winning week one. I am intrigued to understand your foresight.
Was gonna wait till the pregame thread but here ya go.
Who the **** will cover Bowers? The guy set records for a tight end last season.
Who the **** can block Crosby? Campbell is still a rookie. He is good but still a rookie up against one of the best pass rushers in the league.
Also historically the Pats have struggled mightily against mobile QBs. Guess what? Raiders have one now. Last time I watched Geno play the Pats he extended plays with his legs all game long.
This Pats team will compete this season but its a bad match up for this young team early season against a veteran team. IMO

other than maybe Henderson, the patriots do not have any players that opposing coaches need to game plan for.

Wasn't an option to vote 8-9. Miss the playoffs by a game. Drake still seems a bit shaky and we "assume" the defense will be good. They apparently had a hard time covering tight ends during the preseason and joint practices. I originally was thinking 10 wins but I'm feeling 8 or 9.

More important than how many total wins this year is:
How many close games do they win
We will be in a bunch of close games because I believe we will be a run first team with a good defense
Winning those close games obviously rises their total wins but more importantly builds a mentally tough team
A mentally and physically tough and smart team is what Vrabel wants
We will see how his team responds
I chose 9 wins

I'm curious why you have the Patriots losing to Tennessee and also have Tennessee in the playoffs. They're starting a rookie quarterback for one thing.

I'm guessing the Pats go 9-8 or 8-9.

I usually make one wild prediction every year. TEN is my bold prediction this year. Eh, why the hell not?

9-8 with significant improvement over last year in all phases of the game. Maye (who will turn 23 in a few days) takes a big step forward. Pats are in the playoff race right til the end.

Because they're starting a rookie QB and Vrabel will want to stomp the team that fired him. Patriots win that one easily and the Titans won't reach .500 on the season. I'm not a betting man but would take those wagers in a heartbeat.

Who on the Raiders can cover Pop - Diggs - H Henry and T Henderson?? How do the Raiders plan to stop dual Threat Drake Maye??

We're splitting with the Bills and we are not losing to the Titans.

I'm thinking 9-10 wins is possible IF..... A big if here, the injury bug doesn't bite. The Pats have little quality depth, so a rash of injuries means 6-7 wins and some serious disappointment. The 2021-24 drafts are gut wrenching failures outside of Maye and a few others.
I'd love for the Pats to be in the hunt in December, but this rebuild is going to take time. If you put back ups in at 25-30% of the roster for a good chunk of the season, what's your prediction with THAT lineup?

I see 11 wins Maybe 12 our Defense should keep us in many barring injuries.

Yeah, and you're not alone thinking that, I've seen that around plenty.

I think it's just a crazy, insanely high bar. I think they're 7-10, look like an NFL team for the first time in 4 years, and I'm actually good with that.

There's a chance it all just clicks and they rip off like 6 wins at the end of the year or something, but there are still plenty of holes on the roster, especially once you get past the starters.

Injuries is the great equalizer...the less injured team wins every time. Hoping for good health with key players.
