It could have been much worse. Some people here were begging for him to sign Calvin Ridley and trade for Brandon Aiyuk.

I'm guessing they kept him hoping to find a trading partner but couldn't or couldn't find one to their liking. Per overthecap.com, only a $2.8 dead money hit.

I think you may be looking at the pre-June 1 cut figure. Post-June 1 it's $1.4m and they save $6.3m. Those are serious numbers and so I'm not surprised to see him go.

It’s not my money to spend I wanted Ridley, he was a upgrade over what we had.

And it was depressing when people kept turning our offers down.

I liked Bourne and thought had the situation played out differently he would be on this roster as I think he still has something to offer. He will catch on somewhere and I wish him well.
