So now that cutdown has happened for all teams, who are the names we should be paying attention in the next few days? We could use help on the OL, TE, and a FB would be nice.

Anyone with the label of guard.

@Huckleberry1 was just telling me this guy named anyone has more experience than our guards not named Onwenwu.

I'd love to see Adrian Martinez on our practice squad. He didn't look half bad in the pre-season so of course the Jets cut him.

I'd be interested in Leroy Watson cut by the Vikings - listed as a tackle but can also play TE.... strikes me as some depth at OL (I'd think he could handle guard if he was playing tackle) and maybe he goes in as a TE when they need an extra blocker.

There's some guys on our 53 man roster I think can make it past waivers to the practice squad once they see some players at OL, TE and FB they might actually want on the roster.

I don't think the current 53 is what we'll see come the start of the season.

Phil Dorsett
JJ Taylor

I also like Martinez. This year and last year in preseason he looks composed, good arm and mobile.

Dylan Cook was let go by the Steelers too - another swing tackle on the market. Guys like that at the very least are worth looking at for a Shadow Roster of guys who might not latch on with any team but could be available if there's a need for more depth, especially given that he can be a backup on both sides.

A converted QB, at 6'6" 305 one wonders how this guy ever played that position that big

Pats need depth at guard, and IMO a new QB3. Some options out there.

I could see them make a move for a fourth RB. They kept 3 TEs but if they sign Jakob Johnson then they may be able to replace Jack Westover with a “true” TE.

QB Kyle Trask or no?

I think that was Roethlisberger's measurables his last few years too.

Yeah, Westover is one of the guys they can sneak on to the PS if/when a TE or any other player of their liking becomes available

That being said, he's a cheap addition for Week 1 and a guaranteed salary for the year - whereas they and other teams might wait until Week 2 to add some available veteran depth to the roster so they avoid a full season salary guarantee

I think the 3 RBs is what gives them room to add players so I don't expect that to change, aside from some PS additions

Same with QB - don't expect a 3rd on the roster for now. I like Martinez as having more upside than Dobson, but they'll stash #3 on the practice squad too in order to carry more essential guys.

8 WRs is a little surprising but I think that's including those who are playing special teams primarily.

Lampkin had a good preseason but he’s 5’10. Fullback? Overachiever play on him on the line Rudy type? If he dies he dies?

Yes and yes on Cobee Bryant and O'donnell Fortune although CB isn't a high priority. I'd add Hollin Pierce the 6'8" 340 LT who I actually like as a Mekhi Becton type convert to OG.

Im interested in Carter Warren, too. I think he’s worth a gamble.
