Yes the way you guys rip him apart as a GM only goes to show how truly ridiculously good at coaching is.

But that's hyperbole the real point is that Bill the coach covered up for Bill the GM and vice versa. I think that continuity helped with the picks he did get right through the years and also what helped him coach/cover up his mistakes. He didn't have to worry about the infighting between the two and could just try and do what he thought was in the best interest of the team.
