I would not use the IR-DTR now I prefer using it in the regular season.
By using 2 now you essentially get a 55 man roster. And you still have several more IR-DTRs left. I think you get 8. But I suppose we barely have 50 players worth the 53 so I suppose saving a few IRs for later could make more sense then saving someone now.

Thanks for letting me know about that.

I just want to point out depending on how much the Pats want to play with IR they don't really need to cut anyone else of note.

Personally i hope they don't go this route. i'd rather they make some hard choices now, cut ties and have more incentive and pressure to move forward and make moves instead of being stagnant.

Chism, Baker, Bourne, Tavai and others could go to IR.... IDK which are eligible for what exactly, some can return and some can't, but the point is they can open the roster spots to carry everyone who is borderline on this roster.

I don't think they should go that route. take injury settlements, open roster spots, cut ties with players. There is something to be said for eliminating bad fall back plans. look at is this way... would we be better off now if we looked at the roster from the OL last year. Instead of giving guys who sucked another year in the hopes maybe one steps up what if we just cleaned house?

Cut the lot of bums outside of Onwenu. Now we have no fall back or plan B... so the pressure to build something is start over forces action and eliminates complacency. Now they need to take action and rebuild. Do you think they would have let decent starts and back ups slip through the fingers if that was the case?

It seems like a reckless strategy, but there is a certain logic to it and it can work and be a better alternative that being complacent due to hope of one of multiple bad unlikely options working out.

In that thinking, shouldn't Gonzo be fully healthy now? Not sure what rolled up on means but if its a high ankle sprain that is around 6-8 weeks
Ive been thinking the same thing, for something that looked like a minor tweak hes been out a long time now

MAKE IT HAPPEN!!!!

This was one I was waiting for. I'm a big fan.

Looked up his college stats... its pretty impressive but i massively dislike his lack of pass catching. His YPR are good though... But yeah, can he play like a WR? Like can he run a solid wheel or a decent short route tree? Can he catch over the shoulder at full speed in stride?

If all he can do is turn a dump up screen up field (and has to face the QB to catch it) I don't value that as much.

He's Rhamondre without the fumbles.

We should have got Lequint Allen for that (although Treveyon was a pretty good alternative

LOL! I kinda feel bad for Strange. It isn't his fault the Patriots seriously overdrafted him. He played to the level where most people had him going in the draft. For some unknown reason, the Pats felt he was a first round pick when he was a late second day at best but probably third day pick.

Granted the Pats should have been drafter receiver help for Mac Jones since he was a QB that everyone recognized needed talent around him and wasn't a Brady who could elevate mediocre receivers. But in hindsight, that draft sucked for WRs. Thornton obviously was a bust. But no one else succeeded other than headcase George Pickens and even the Steelers felt he was more trouble than he was worth.

So Caedan Wallace and Cole Strange are safe for now? Do we normally carry 4 OGs?

KC says hold up on the bust label on Thornton
