It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Practice started at 2 today, and since the Vikings preseason game the media has only reported once practice has finished.I feel like the media let us down today a bit. I couldn't find any reports about who was or was not at practice and who was or was not on the injured list. Nothing in my usual feeds. Only Romo was the first player on the field.
Of note: White and Mapu are speaking to the media after practice. This 99% means Mapu is on the roster and White isn't being traded.
Just as well. There was no way the Cobra Commanders were letting him go.
His last season he went over 500 yards was 5 years ago. I don’t think he even played in a game last year.Michael Gallup waived by the Commanders. Knowing what he was a couple years ago... worth seeing what he's got?
A thread here got a bit off topic?!?FYI all, we will probably start a new thread tomorrow to reset for cutdowns, since this thread has gotten pretty long and a bit off topic.
Posted before, but I'll state it again: Robinson was waived/injured. Waiving young players before putting them on IR in the preseason is a requirement the league put in place long ago to prevent teams from actually "Foxboro Flu"-ing healthy players. My guess is vrabel’s guys get priority. They already cut Robinson.
To borrow from a long-ago thread, all long threads on this site tend to turn into featureless blobs.A thread here got a bit off topic?!?
I’m shocked!
I agree.1A) TB12 (until 2019)

I feel like it comes down to what the media chooses to say. With Larison, Dial and Polk the media generally said “player is going on IR” but for Robinson the phrase was “waived/injured” and people just focused on “waived”. In reality it’s all the same.Posted before, but I'll state it again: Robinson was waived/injured. If/when he gets an injury settlement, that'll be another matter, but he'll still be on the payroll if/when he clears waivers.
But Vrabel also said:So saying White will be part of a rotation just side steps the question. He lost starting level reps cause he wasn't as good as the other guy. It's that simple.
"I think when everything is said and done, the snaps are going to be pretty even and equal," Vrabel added.
The part above the pants line?Ernie's retirement cannot be understated. He was half of Bill's brain IMO.

That’s not at all what he is saying. You often hear about rotating players on the DLine to keep them fresh. To me this is usually kind of a BS line.
All teams tend to rotate their DL at about the same rate. You can rotate more of you want, but at some point you are just hurting yourself.
Let's say we keep 6 edge players and play all 6... Does it really make sense to give everyone an equal time share? Don't you want your best players out there? More doesn't always mean more... After all, having your best player out there every snap on the DLine will mean they will go half speed much of the time as they can't keep it up all game. But at some point less isn't more either. Why limit your best player's snaps needlessly? If they can give you 30-35 100% effort snaps a game, should we use less for some reason? Certainly not.
Nor should we use other guys less just for the sake of using them less. Use who is best in the situation as long as they can do the job the best at that moment. Nothing more, nothing less. Every team does this.
Every team tends to operate with the same philosophy. So saying White will be part of a rotation just side steps the question. He lost starting level reps cause he wasn't as good as the other guy. It's that simple.
They could give an injury settlement and then he would not be on the team/IR'dWaived/Injured means that he's going to IR. It's a stupid f'in rule that they've had in place for more than 2 decades and it's prevent teams from "stashing".
Robinson will be on the IR and it has nothing to do with draft status.
This is wholly talent dependent, if you have that much pass rush then use it. This also only works if your offense can score points and play from ahead. You often hear about rotating players on the DLine to keep them fresh. To me this is usually kind of a BS line.

Vrabel employs an attacking front, and those guys get tired relatively fast playing like that, so you gotta put in fresh bodies regularly. This is wholly talent dependent, if you have that much pass rush then use it. This also only works if your offense can score points and play from ahead.
The 2019 defense was a great example, I remember a graphic around midseason stating they rotated defenders at the highest rate in the NFL. Later when the offense started to struggle to score or play from ahead... the defense suffered. They couldn't pin their ears back and pass rush, team were running on them.
Bottom line is Milton Williams was paid a gazillion dollars, but he's not going to be playing a ridiculous amount of snaps. He's not built for that and frankly Keion White is a more old school traditional 3/4 type DE than a 4/3 end. It doesn't matter who starts, there will be a heavy rotation along the defensive front. Fresh and healthy is better than tired and bruised.
