The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

Especially that statue.

Kraft must have had a coupon.
When he is pressured to put one up for Bill. He'll go to the The Statue Factory in North Attleboro. Might pick up a bird bath at the same time

Agree but I'm not sure about BB rejoining the NFL. Age, the end of his time in NE, control request, and Bunny do not help his case.
And teams looking for a HC are looking for a reason. Chances are they’re not very good. Why would any team like that hire him.

Especially now that he’s on record that he doesn’t like being told what to do.

The only way I see him making it back is if he kicks ass in the college playoffs.

....and based on the current talent at UNC that ain't happening.

Bill’s whining may just be enough of a reason for Kraft to keep him out of the Patriots HOF. He really would be petty enough to do that. That’s too bad.

Kraft was a pimple on the NFLs axx before BB took his franchise to the top and beyond.

BB wanted to be fired. Then Kraft owed him every penny of his contract. The time to fire BB was was when Kraft had the choice of Brady staying and BB leaving. Kraft did the math on which outcome would benefit him the best. Sure, he probably would have won another Lombardi with Brady, but long term his franchise would suffer like it is currently.

The bottom line is that every time Kraft is running the show, the Pats are losers. Lost with Tuna after Kraft seized control of the draft. Lost with Carroll who was a soft players coach. Lost with Mayo who was hired to get Bob in the HOF.

I believe that BB will be back in the NFL.
Simple fact since becoming owner of the Patriots.

First. Prevented the Patriots from being moved to St Louis, so without Kraft there is New England Patriots.

Second, the Patriots are the most successful team in the NFL since he took over, having both the most wins, superbowls, superbowl appearances, and most times to the playoffs.

Third, Belichick is tied for having the worst record as a HC during that time period with Mayo at 4 wins. And Belichick alone has the third worst record as the HC at 5 wins. Pete Carroll never lost more than 8 games with the Patriots.

Fourth. Kraft recognized his mistakes and made the necessary changes to improve the team. He traded for Belichick, thats right Kraft of his own think decided to trade for and sign Belichick to coach and run his team, and stayed out of his way when Belichick decided to keep Brady as the starting QB over Bledsoe. He also fired Mayo after only 1 bad season because he wasn't afraid to admit he was wrong.

Kraft is the GOAT owner for everything he has done for NE and fans need to respect the man. All his decisions weren't perfect but if we had a guy like Jerry Jones or Al Davis, Bledsoe would have been forced back into the starting line up, the NE Patriots would now be in LA. And there would be no 6 time superbowl winning NE Patriots.

Name one owner who has ever accomplished what Kraft has done.

More like a grifter than a beauty queen. I think she’s skanky as can be.
Yes she is. She will dump him and move on to her next mark when UNC fires him.

Bill whines that in the NFL he had to deal with barriers like the “owner’s son”

This coming from the same guy who was allowed to hire Matt Patricia as his offensive coordinator.

Right.
Your timeline is off. Patricia was a reaction to the meddlesome owners. Krafts were already all over him so he closed ranks even tighter with someone he felt he could really trust.

Who was completely unqualified for the job. Patricia didn’t know what he was doing.

How about because he’s the greatest coach of all time?

There is definitely extraneous **** going on with Belichick, but he’s still a better coach than anyone in football. That doesn’t mean he’s the right fit for every team, nor does it mean he should get full control, as he had in New England, but no one is better at getting a team ready for a game, or strategy on how to beat your opponent, he just should t have control over personnel anymore, and Bunny needs to stay in the background.

Wow, the stories are true. You guys really are ****ing each other. Is there an issue with who is paying for the motel room’s? Or have you two moved in together?

Signbabybrady you can dislike this all you want, but you two simply will not STFU with the sniping at each other. It has gone on forever and everyone is sick of it. It demonstrates absolutely no respect for this forum. Ian should create a sub forum just for you two to tell each other to **** off a 100 times a day.

If you’re referring to me here I have him on my ignore list. If he wants a one way conversation with me he can have at it I won’t see his responses.

Bunny staying in the background? That would be the first time…

Good teams are not going to send their coach packing to hire Bill. That’s not happening. People talk like he’s not approaching his mid 70s. A job is not a lifetime achievement award.

Where did I say that good teams would fire their coaches to hire Belichick? I didn’t say that. Many teams wouldn’t hire Belichick because they are happy with their current staff, e.g…The Rams and Ravens, others because they don’t want to deal with Belichick as a person, but if you think the Cowboys are better off with Brian Schottenheimer, or the Jags with Liam Cohen then you are nuts.

I'm just here to make sure perspective is kept. Can't just let the haters go unchecked.

I mentioned good teams because hiring someone like Bill at his age would be a win right now move. His attempt to build the Patriots post Brady was a failure. That combined with his age means nobody will hire him to be part of a rebuild.

He’s whining about people getting in his way so why would any nfl team hire him now anyway.

Arguably the GOAT coach but as I said a coaching job isn’t a lifetime achievement award

Belichick is 73. There has never been a successful HC in the NFL at that age.

Belichick was once the GOAT but father time caught up to him.
If Belichick was only 63 he would probably be the HC of the Chargers right now.

No NFL owner wants a HC that wants 10mil plus a year, full control of the team, demands his son's be apart of the organization, while being an unhealthy looking 73 year old with a gold digger girlfriend who looks to have taken control of the man.

That fact doesn't take away from Belichick's past greatness, just like you wouldn't want to a 60 year old Joe Montana taking snaps under center doesnt mean he wasnt the best QB in his era.

You dont want the current Belichick running your multi billion dollar franchise. An executive role where he was more like a consultant would be valuable though. I thought he should have stuck to TV he was very informative and started to get a feel for it last year

Teams don't trust him to have constraints places on him like not being able to buy the groceries. In his interview cycle the general reception that was reported on was that people in the front office thought that even if he claimed to want to just only focus on coaching, he was inevitably going to push for more and more power and they'd all lose jobs because Bill wants full contro.

And frankly, his recent comments where he can't take accountability for his shortcomings in the last 5 years here and blamed it on people not getting out of his brilliant way, makes me think they aren't wrong.

Also tbh, every coach has their day. Bill at the end had a very undisciplined team that was making mistakes and didn't look all that prepared the last two seasons. So I'm not even sure his past pedigree is relevant anymore.
