The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

Not in the NFL it isn't. Anyway, I asked you to try being objective. He has done and said a lot of foolish things since his Patriots tenure ended, including senseless public sparring with the Krafts.
So if Bill decided to visit the Carolina Panthers at Training camp you think the NFL players and coaches would try to avoid him due to his image or would they listen to every word he had to say to them?

I think they'd probably be taking notes in the meeting room if he spoke.

That will get him a statue.

Both need to go watch episode 8 of the Cowboys Documentary and don't let 30 years of this rift pass.
BB could really care less about a statue.

Especially one with a long torso and legs and a tiny head.

If we're looking for cheap shot comments by HCs I'd rank two as worse than anything Bill ever said.

Wrecks Ryan's shot at Marty Schottenheimer, saying that he would have won with his team.

Don Shula* asking for an asterisk for the Pats even though his team lost a 1st round pick and paid a record fine for tampering, which lead directly to their perfect season.

That was an unnecessary shot that cost him a statue and any chance, if he wanted it, to come back and work for an owner to set the all-time wins record. No owner wants someone that despises them. And Kraft will close the door on recognizing Belichick, other than the inevitable Pats Hall of Fame.
An NFL owner with no Lombardi trophies will take a chance with BB.

Kraft is the one who should be concerned about making it in the HOF while he is still on this side of the green grass. His antics hiring Mayo and promoting Glaser backfired in his face. Then, he fires Mayo and tries to badmouth him, but Mayo threatened to go public with the truth. Kraft backed down and there has not been a peep since.

Similar was Jerry Jones when he popped off and said that "anybody could win a super bowl with his Cowboys team" directly in front of Jimmy Johnson.

Yea I don't think Bill cares about a statue but he clearly cares about the narrative specific to his legacy. So does Orchids.

There is a lot of Bill hate here and some of it deserved. Some of it is also judgemental by those who ***** about Bill just because. Let's not forget, these war of words were started by Bob when he essentially broke the agreement they reached re: "the mutual decision" when he told the world he fired Bill and put out the AppleTV + piece.

Should Bill move on and fold up the rabbit ears? Yes. He needs to come to terms he deserved to be fired. As coach he implemented a meritocratic culture here and his recent language smacks against it. Should Orchids also stfu? Yes.

Problem is these are two old men with big egos who care about their legacy and because neither one has accomplished little recently they see kicking dead bones as a way of improving their own stature.

Idiots

If not for his reputation , bill would be canned by UNC. If he has a losing season this year , I bet he will be shown the door.
Yep. Not everyone at the school wanted to bring him on board anyway.

TCU vs UNC right out of the gate will be a good game.

“I always wanted to coach college football”… lol sure you did.

The kids these days call that “cope”.

It will be interesting to see who Bill or his mouth puppet Lombardi will blame for UNC's record this season. Will it be the AD? The AD's son?

His perfect system that he has in place now as an NFL program in the ACC. That should be a minimum CFP appearance in the new watered down CFP format. UNC is now the 33rd NFL team according to Bill.

Kraft was a pimple on the NFLs axx before BB took his franchise to the top and beyond.

BB wanted to be fired. Then Kraft owed him every penny of his contract. The time to fire BB was was when Kraft had the choice of Brady staying and BB leaving. Kraft did the math on which outcome would benefit him the best. Sure, he probably would have won another Lombardi with Brady, but long term his franchise would suffer like it is currently.

The bottom line is that every time Kraft is running the show, the Pats are losers. Lost with Tuna after Kraft seized control of the draft. Lost with Carroll who was a soft players coach. Lost with Mayo who was hired to get Bob in the HOF.

I believe that BB will be back in the NFL.

Bill whines that in the NFL he had to deal with barriers like the “owner’s son”

This coming from the same guy who was allowed to hire Matt Patricia as his offensive coordinator.

Right.

Especially that statue.

Kraft must have had a coupon.

UNCs schedule isnt that bad.

Quite a few snowflake teams and a run in the middle with Clemson, Virginia and Syracuse.

That slim chance approaches zero the more BB flaps his gums and *****es and moans that he had to answer to someone--like the rest of humanity has to.

Bill's arrogance grew and grew until he became thd creature he is today. Pride comes before the fall.

It's an old story.

And so many of you, my dear readers, excused and even defended his screwball, highly ineffective drafting, which should have been removed from his duties after he took seventh round/priority free agent Stanford DB in the second round of the 2015 draft. What is his name?

Jordan Richards, whom Charles Davis ranked as the 23rd safety in that draft class.

An obvious lack of athleticism be damned, Bill overruled consensus and his scouting department and the lackluster Combine numbers (except for Richards's excellent three-cone time), to take this guy when the team already had Devin McCourty and Patrick Chung as the starting safeties.

You all saw Jordan Richards's physical limitations in games. Great character can't overcome mediocre athleticism.

If only that had occurred and drafting returned to being decent, think how the subsequent years would have been even brighter.

And Don Shula's total win record would have been broken.

BBs drafting was always hit and miss. Larry Maroney and Chad Jackson and Wilfork and Watson next draft.

Without Brady its doubtful that BB would have kept his job. But, there are always 2 sides to every story and all that matters now is winning. If BB wins at UNC, then he will be back in the NFL.

Belichick will largely be using the team he inherited this season, and it will be interesting to see how far he can take them. His teams won’t be in play for at least another year, if not two. You don’t start teams filled with freshman in college.

You know what did occur just prior to this time frame?

Bill Belichick coming up with the perfect game plan for the KGun and beating Levy in a Superbowl.

Wow, the stories are true. You guys really are ****ing each other. Is there an issue with who is paying for the motel room’s? Or have you two moved in together?

Agree but I'm not sure about BB rejoining the NFL. Age, the end of his time in NE, control request, and Bunny do not help his case.
