Watt looks like an nfl rotational RB to me. I wouldn't be surprised if he makes the team outright.

OK, OK I give. We need to have some kind of bet on this payable in 3 years ... your lips to god's ear.
I hoping that Big Kid Tackle Marcus Bryant develops that would be a nice story.

That IS a nice story and a surprising one. Like any player he had a CHANCE to develop, but who would have expected the results to be so fast. Last time we had an OL move up so quickly was David Andrew and he became an institution.

It's true the Pats brass decided to use this strictly for evaluation, but they kind of got embarrassed on National TV. A better showing would have been nice.
Nice for who? The third preseason game has one redeeming quality - for other teams to evaluate guys your team is going to cut ANYWAY.

That's it.

This is a little lofty, but a scenario where we somehow landed both starting tackles in the same draft would be incredible. Even it being our starting LT and a quality swing tackle would be more than welcome.

You might want to check out his preseason tape. The Pats backup QB's outplayed him. True story.

Um I think not I'm pretty sure you saw those WR Drops.

Watch the full tape, it was UGLY
I like Milton: he would have been good here. Can't blame him for believing in himself. That said: I'm not a believer in Dobbs.

Yup; in 2011 the Pats drafted Nate Solder and Marcus Cannon, and that turned out awesome. Would be great to check this position off the “to improve” list.

I don’t even think of Wolf as our GM any more.

He isn’t making the call on player acquisition and departures.

I think his role now is more of finding players Vrabel will want in both the pro’s and draft. He’s probably been looking at the league as a whole trying to figure out who will be released, and doing homework on them. He’s probably also looking at potential trade candidates, and evaluating them and the cost of acquiring them, then he feeds the information to Vrabel for a decision on the players and possible deals.

Was just going through the stat sheet (I'll have that uploaded in a bit) and noticed that Wooldridge never threw another pass after that pick-six. Literally had zero attempts in the 4th quarter, and they ran it 15 straight times:

Ben Wooldridge Passing Totals:

By Quarter:

  • Q1: 1/4 (25%) 4 yards
  • Q2: 8/12 (66.7%) 70 yards 1 TD
  • Q3: 1/4 (25%) 8 yards 1 INT
  • Q4: None
By Down:
  • 1st: 2/5 (40%) 19yds 1TD
  • 2nd: 4/7 (57.1%) 29yds 1 INT
  • 3rd: *4/8 (50%) 34 yards
    *3 Passing First Downs
Hard not to wonder the reason. He did close out the first half with a 14 play, 80yd touchdown drive (where he made a terrific throw to Jeremiah Webb), so it's not like he was so horrible they needed to shut him down. But three possessions and just four pass attempts later, that was it. And on a night where they're still evaluating receivers (and the score didn't matter), to not have him throw again was certainly sort of an interesting decision.
Maybe, Vrabel just wanted to keep the clock rolling running the ball to get the meaningless game over.

I wonder if Al and Kirk get paid extra for calling a game like last night's.

CB? Our 4th and 5th are Marcus and James. Not bad at all., both have shown well enough We could use a 6th, but that isn't a bad 4th and 5th to have. If you're 6th needs to see time, you're kind of screwed in this league no matter who you are.
If Marcus is CB4 who is CB3? I have him behind Gonzo and Davis. Who am I missing?

That means I’ve got Austin, Battle, Bolden, and James (not necessarily in that order) as CB4-5-6-7. Our CB depth is not terrible.

If you look at depth charts posted on ESPN, it is apparent that the bottom half of the pats roster is much worse than almost all other NFL teams.
I think Wolfe has done a bad job in the free agent and trade market. He has been passive as usual and afraid to pull the trigger on any trades.
I’m surprised he’s still here, I thought after the draft they would’ve let him go.
