(OT) Joe Milton’s play must give Cowboys legitimate concerns about backup QB

Not sure what you mean. They had almost the entire starting secondary out there when Milton completed his 1st 10 passes or around that. Game planning to lose I can see, but the players are gonna play.
The big thing is not having Von Miller and the starting DL in there. He sacked Maye in the 1st series to reach a contract incentive. Then again the Pats basically had 3rd string OL to block for Milton, so it was a wash there.

They were playing prevent defense.

Just watched his 11 for 11 to start the game again (where the heck is this guy in the preseason? Accuracy was pinpoint on sometimes blanket coverage). I don't see prevent defense (especially when Boutte got behind a starting safety for the TD). Heck the Pats run game wasn't good (77yds on 30 carries to Bills' 130yds on 33 carries), and the Bills kept stuffing them.

Milton has never shown the ability to be a starting NFL QB. There is a reason he was drafted where he was.
You can overcome average processing with great OC and accuracy. Milton lacks accuracy and processing.
How many 25-year-olds suddenly develop that?

He was bad at processing in the Bills game. People just ignored it because of the stats and results which were spectacular, but you could see in that game he was still a bad processor. He was surprisingly accurate in that game but he's back to himself in pre-season with the Cowboys.

FYI they turned the Milton pick into Borregales, Ashby and Minor.

What were some examples of bad processing in the Bills game? I mean it was his first appearance in an official NFL game ever. TB12 looked absolutely horrendous in his first appearance, and he was just a year and a half younger than Milton with significantly more starts in college. TB12 was literally 6 inches away from a pick 6 that could've altered the entire space time continuum leading to a Stidham path versus a GOAT path.

I gotta say though - I blame you for my being a Miltonite before he was traded. He was totally not on my radar before then. That darn predraft Excel spreadsheet.

I went over the plays last year after the game and posted a few. I remember the one he ran around and threw a near TD, I think, he had his 1st read open and just didn’t throw it, that happened on many plays.

He didn’t rate very high on the spreadsheet outside of perfect size for QB, outside that he had no qualifies that translates to an NFL QB and advanced analytics were poor.

He was intriguing for arm and size, but those guys rarely succeed on that alone.

The spreadsheet had something to do with QB pressures. Maye was poor but Milton was high.

Is there a possibility that Dallas sucks to be a qb for?

Kinda feel bad for Milton. He's only getting such strong attention because people are kinda dumb and went wild with him winning a single game. Otherwise his performance would be labeled what it was: that of a struggling low end QB fighting for a roster spot.

Makes me think of the invention of the "Mandela Effect" - why does it have to be a "social phenomenon" when we can simply go off of the reality: people are just stupid and don't know basic historical facts lmao.

Not sure if that's correct. They had to give up a seventh-rounder, which was totally asinine, in exchange for Milton and Dallas's fifth-rounder. We should have kept that seventh-rounder, the first of three.

I’m just talking the fifth round pick they got they traded it and then traded again and ended up with those three guys
