#3 Demontrey Jacobs - If something happens to Campbell or Moses even for a short time Jacobs becomes the #3. He has had a good camp overall and has shown growth from last year, when he was simply not ready to start. Considering he entered the league in 2023 and is 26 i wonder how much upside he has left... but maybe there is more to be had. Let's see if he can continue his solid camp. So far he has played lower level players. This will be his likely first time getting the start (unless they decide they want to play Campbell... I don't think they do). And probably the best competition he's face in game action all year. I know the Giants probably won't play many guys either, but still he will likely see better competition at least early.

I think Bryant is already the #3 OT, backing up both sides. So if something happens to either Campbell or Moses Bryant he is next man up. Behind Bryant it’s not clear whether Lowe or Jacobs would be next man. So I’m looking to see how both Jacobs and Lowe do tomorrow night.

TL;DR: #3 s/b “OT Depth” not just Jacobs. Or given the uncertainty around IOL perhaps “OL Depth” to also address questions about LG and C especially, plus RG backup.

I never understood the one series effort. Seems like a panacea to the fans to pretend they are getting some quality football for their dollars. If they don't play at least three, they shouldn't bother. I don't expect to see them at all.

It could be what you said regarding fans plus a starter they know is one of the 53 could go down a la A Frauders (Rodgers). 1 wrong hit or twist and seasons over….is it worth the fan service?

Bob, Are you sure you don't been Bryant for OT3? He's been the consensus there for a week or two with Lowe at OT4.

I read Bob’s post as Bryant is OT3 so when Bryant steps up to replace Campbell or Moses does Jacobs replace him as OT3. I’m not sure Lowe is OT4 though. So I just simultaneously posted a more verbose version of your question. Great minds thinking alike…

From Daboll's comments it doesn't sound like the Giants are playing starters tomorrow night.

Wonder how much playing time our offensive starters will get if any. Need the work especially up front.

As for IOL. I don't know if there is anything to look at when it comes to it. Brown is the first back up IOL. But no one else is roster worthy IMO. Brown probably isn't either... but he is the best of the bunch. I just do not believe the guy for that spot is currently on the roster. It just isn't good enough. Ideally we trade of an IOL man or sign a FA. Move them to the #1 back up role and move Brown down to the emergency back up.

Thanks. You could be right. But I’m not sure we’ve seen enough of Lowe to know. He was injured and then they’ve been bringing him along slow, low key. There’s so much criticism about Jacobs that it seems not a high bar, so even with the criticism of Lowe I’m thinking it’s still competitive. That’s why I think what we see of both of them tomorrow will be very telling.

If the Pats truly want to get rid of Dugger, they may have to do an NBA style trade. This would include the Pats also throwing in a higher draft pick then what they receive back in return/if anything to give other team incentive to take on the remaining contract.

And Daboll will be on an extremely short leash this season.

IMO it's for the players, not the fans. If you know you have a day off, your mind wanders. If you know you have to play at least one series without making yourself look bad, your mind focuses.

I thought the starters get more reps (or used to) in the final preseason game? No wonder they reduced it to three games

The kicker duel will be interesting to watch today and, as @BobDigital mentioned, I'm looking forward to seeing how Swinson, Ponder and Jones get on at EDGE. Swinson flashed a couple of times against the Vikings so I hope he continues to improve.

I don’t think Wallace has played in a while. I am gonna guess he makes the initial 53 then gets IRed. The two “cutdown day IR-DTR” guys will probably be Polk and Tavai.
