Wait for roster cuts.

Wouldn’t offer him more than 30m a year for 3 years. That’s where you start. If he’s wants more, you don’t even make an offer.

We might offer $32M if the Bengals will take Duggar and White which saves us about $11.5M.

Hendrickson, Williams, Barmore and Landry and you say No. The Pats have to explore it.
What is your proposed trade and cap hit over the next 3 years?

Don’t get me wrong, he’d be an awesome player to have. But 30? and wants 35-40? I hope thats not true, that would be a very irresponsible use of money.

Keon White is young and may flourish next to Williams and Barmore? 20 sacks flourish? No way.

Read a Bengals fan proposal that it would take a RG and a safety to get it done. Onwenu and Dugger? Not sure if I like giving up Onwenu and creating more holes on the roster but the move if both were involved would probably save a fair amount off the cap to go towards paying Hendrickson. It would have to be a 3 year deal which I don’t think would appeal to him unless it was front loaded af.

Why would you do that with White? If there is a coach who can get the most out of him, it is Vrabel. White is only in his 3rd year and we don't know what he is yet. Last season was not his fault.

We know White is not Hendrickson and we don't want to give up a high draft pick. White somewhat fills the hole Hendrickson leaves behind and reduces the need for a high draft pick to be included.

I think $33M a year for three years, $100M, with $30M guaranteed will get it done. Hendrickson would die to play for Vrabel.
Garrett got $123m, Watt got $108m, and Crosby got $91.5m in guarantees.

He turns 31 in December. He has 1-2 top end years left.

I don't know what he wants but $30m guaranteed seems to be below his floor.

If we guarantee more that is not a show stopper. Pay a bit more and guarantee a bit less. If the Bengals take White and Dugger we save about $11M or $12M a year, so Hendrickson's contract is affordable as long as we have Maye on low dollars. Next year we can add a FA and 1st round draft pick to the OL and we would have a great DL and OL in 2026 with Maye entering his 3rd year. I can not see why we wouldn't do the deal.

What would you part with?

A third and a fifth is max for me.
That is way. Way. Way too much.

To take on someone that far on the wrong side of 30, for that big of a contract, that's like Hendrickson and a 7th for a future 6th territory.

Bruh, you're not giving up a 24 year old on his rookie contract for a 31 year old. Dugger, sure, if there's no place for him. Jennings also makes sense.
