Shuttle shows that he is fluid laterally and accelerates well. A poor 3cone shows he is not good at changing directions. If you watch Watts tape he is a north-south runner hitting the hole quickly with slight lateral movements but not stopping and cutting back. You compare with Henderson who is fast, accelerates well, and switches direction. Watts is also very strong so he is not afraid of running over people. He converted from CB most likely because his change of direction was so poor.I would agree but his shuttle time is not atrocious. So what’s up with that?
Maurice Jones Drew was 5'8 and 205. Bet you whined about him as well.
For all you know, he slipped slightly running it and that cost him.
From chat gptHis shuttle is great, that’s also a quickness drill. He’s a very good athlete for his size, not unlike Larison.
What are we supposed to glean from this copy/paste mess ^From chat gpt
The 3-cone drill (also called the L-drill) is a football combine agility test that measures quickness, change of direction, and acceleration. A “good” time depends on the level of competition:
NFL Combine Benchmarks (Elite)
- Excellent: 6.4 – 6.7 seconds (elite agility; top cornerbacks/wide receivers).
- Good: 6.8 – 7.0 seconds (above average for skill positions).
- Average: 7.1 – 7.3 seconds (solid but not standout).
- Below Average: 7.4+ seconds (slower for NFL skill positions, though linemen often fall here).
By Position (NFL prospects)
- DBs / WRs / RBs: Aim for < 7.0 sec.
- LBs / TEs: Around 7.0 – 7.2 sec is competitive.
- OL / DL: 7.3 – 7.6 sec is typical; anything under 7.3 is excellent for size.
That was my thought too. One slip and you're considered worthless.Maurice Jones Drew was 5'8 and 205. Bet you whined about him as well.
For all you know, he slipped slightly running it and that cost him.
It's his default position. He can't be any thing but negative. Must be draining. What are we supposed to glean from this copy/paste mess ^
His shuttle is great, that is also an agility drill. He also ran these once at his pro day, not twice as he wasn’t an invite to the combine. But you can read this on the graphic back on page one… so you’re just being your negative self.
If I wanted to know something from the same source that tells me to put glue on pizza to keep the cheese from slipping, I'll ask it.From chat gpt
