I think Dobbs is one of those dudes who is generally trash BUT oddly can catch fire in a spot start occasionally

I suspect that Dobbs was the choice so that Maye wouldn't feel at all threatened. Dobbs can certainly fill that role.

I’m starting to think that this will be a common occurrence this season.

I warned the board the day he was signed to buckle up your seatbelts as he was going to piss a lot of people off come game day. Got my usual resistance. He's been injury prone his entire career, so this is par for the course. I didn't like him more because of his play as he routinely stood out in a bad way in Tampa Bay. They would've repeated had him and Dean not been such trash. This was a very odd signing, but PFF has done a fantastic job gaslighting people though.

It's odd to me to see Thornton, Polk and now Williams struggle a little with route running. I am by no means thinking Williams is like Polk. Williams is a rookie. I trust he'll get it.

But these guys are behind less heralded picks like Douglas, Boutte and Chism.

It's just interesting to see 3 players get it almost immediately while others do not get it immediately (Williams) and 2 others will very likely never get it (Polk) or are almost out of the league (Thornton). If Douglas, Boutte and Chism become regulars for us, that will be something.

I don't think Kyle Williams is not getting it...he has some drops and some plays where Maye included; just flat out missed him with the pass. Also Route running is one of Kyle Williams strengths... he's our Fastest WR.

It’s nice to hear some positive things. I expected it to be a **** show ala last year vs Philly. Vikings were a damned good team last year, and had a very good defense, finishing 3rd overall in team defense. Nice to hear the Pat’s offense had some success. Definitely an improvement from last year.

I think Williams and the QB are not on the same page. When the QB is having more success with others it may be because of route and expectations

On a positive line note Bedard had Morgan Moses with a good day!

T Morgan Moses: Was 2-0 in his 1-on-1s and didn't appear to give up much pressure.

ON the negative for the line

C Garrett Bradbury: Had two holds and had a hand in a few sacks during team.

LG Caeden Wallace: Got worked in his two 1-on-1 reps.

Very encouraged by this. This is a very good defense with a DC who knows our OC well. For the offense to be moderately successful is actually a big win. Just think back to how badly the Mayo-led Patriots got crushed last year against Philly as a comparison point.

I tend to agree that Dobbs needs replacing. There will be many QBs hitting the market soon though. Maybe Wooldridge can step up, but there are other QBs with experience with McDaniels who could shake loose.
