2025 Red Sox Thread

I see some things now that I need to see to think there might be something there. Starting to remind me of the 2018 team a little bit. They have a lot of awful good players and the pitching is rounding into form. I think their hitting approach has changed a little bit and they are (thanks Rice) driving more balls instead of trying to hit them out all the time.
Yeah and The Password is destroying Triple A pitching. Hitting for average, bigtime power, driving in and scoring runs. It's 54 games so not a small sample size now. They won't rush him but he keeps this up he'll be up for the playoffs run. Soon.
And Tolle is dominating. Only took him 6 games to get promoted from DoubkeA to Triple A. Never thought I'd see this as a possibility but he might also be in Boston in Sept. He's a beast .
I love Maye and the Pats' young talent but the Red Sox have way more quality young talent than any other Boston team.
They are set up to be contenders for a long run.

Yep and the people screaming to trade it all are the same ones who, yes we got a title in '18, but it has been 7 long years of misery while they rebuilt the farm system from the ashes and keep doing it. They might be on the cusp of yearly sustainability.

Until the rookie contracts are up and they want us to think they are the Oakland A's or some **** like that.

In the immortal words of Capt. James T. Kirk: "Don't believe them. Don't trust them."

Maybe it's time for me to change my tune.

Locking kids up early and keeping it 'affordable' absolutely fits ownership's sheet music. OFC a young player is going to bite at the security, smart money move for both sides.

They're not going to end up keep Duran at 28 yrs old. He's going to be expensive and they'll offer him some ******** lowball, short term offer. I've kind of resigned myself to that fact. They do have other young, exciting players like Cedenne and Narvaez.

They're winning me over.

I don't necessarily have a problem w/ this deal. They did the same deal with Pedroia and most recently Bello so whatever.

And with Rafaela last year and Campbell earlier this season, they'll be talking to Mayer next.

They'll exercise his option at season's end then probably move him next year or the year after while he still has the value of controllable years to the 'buyer' that'll net a better return. He's got the anti-Devers team first attitude you'd like to see them build around as a future long term clubhouse leader but this ownership doesn't pay for those traits.

... and I can't help but think that his decidedly un-PC comment lasty year will be remembered. You'll know if they start leaking stories about it or similar mouthy comments.

Yep. Dr. Charles Steinberg and his minions of smear campaign operatives will be hard and work.

Let's hope the owners have another run in them. It would be nice if this team was relevant again

I admit.....i'm sucked in. Checking stats in the morning. Watching highlights. Reading the beat writers.

This team is busting it's ass, playing quality ball, and has my respect. They may fade down the stretch but right now they have my emotional investment.

Y'know...thats sports. Despite how cheap and disingenuous towards the fans ownership is, the uniform and quality of play that has my loyalty.

Let it ride and see where it goes

Geez, that would be a lowlife, slimy thing to do, considering what Duran has been through. Not to mention all he's done for this team. That would not be well-received by the players, Cora and the entire coaching staff. Duran is not Devers. Jarren is one of the most highly respected players by everyone on this team.

I 100% don’t trust this organization.

They're fun to watch and they play hard. A bunch of dirt dogs.
They deserve better than John Henry.
With all the young talent currently on the team and all the top prospects in the minors, they have a chance to become a dominant team for a long time. They have one if the best managers in the sport and a great coaching staff.
As long as ownership doesn't f it up.

No they don't. Far from it, in fact.

Don't do it.
