This really adds a layer to the WR battle now.

Another player that if Polk, Baker, Chism, Bourne, and I'll even include Boutte (though he does seem in the top 4 as of now) want to make the team they have to prove to better than.

Nobody knocking your socks off but a crowded group and hard to predict who is ahead of who.

Early, but they are putting Hollins right in the mix. If this continues a spot on the roster is his to lose.

If Chism is in fact good they should bury him with the backups all preseason. No one will claim him then. Baker too. We could use the depth.

Diggs/Boutte/Pop/Williams/Hollins/Polk. Bourne to SF.

You’re probably right but to be fair, we don’t hear much about any of the third team guys. I think it says more about the reporters focus at practice. I mean, there’s got to be somebody showing up on the third team I’d hope.

I really don’t know if they will keep a 3rd TE in their top 53. Nobody has made a name for himself. Plus, they may keep more WRs than usual. Diggs, Douglas, Williams, Boutte, Bourne & Hollins, that’s the probable top 6. Then you have Baker & Polk. Thats 8, I wouldn’t be surprised if 7 of them make the 53 man roster.

3rd TE isn’t spot where you make a name for yourself. It’s grunt work, and not the kind of stuff that gets training camp reports.

It's a walk through and they might just be giving him some added reps to help him catch up a little.

But if we take where they slotted him at face value it would seem like Hollins and Boutte are 4 and 5 in some order. Bourne gets pushed a little closer to the bubble and guys like Polk, Baker, and Chism now have to pass both Bourne and Hollins to make it. Boutte certainly still isn't a lock but so far seems to be in the top group and performing.

Still wide open battle but that seems to be where it stands right now.
