Anything notable news-wise, please create a new thread. Over the last couple of decades one of the things that's always been nice is when any of us are working, it makes it convenient to be able to jump in here and catch any news, etc. We're having a significant issue where a lot of things are getting buried in current threads and isn't easily findable.

I'm among many who if we're busy and can't necessarily jump into a thread, like to be able to check in and see if anything news-worthy has happened. That hasn't been something we've been doing over the last several months and it's something we've gotten away from.

I understand the desire to keep things "organized," but that goes against the spirit of making this a place to spot information and discuss it. And it causes a lot of discussions that branch off on multiple topics in a thread rather than simply having another thread to talk about it.

So let's try and break away from this moving forward. Go ahead and start a new thread. No one is going to get mad at you, and if they do, I added the "Ignore" button front and center this offseason to make it easy for them to hide it.

We want to be able to easily see and talk about everything that's going on. So please be mindful of that moving forward, as it just makes it easier on everyone trying to stay updated with what's happening both here and around the league this preseason.

Someone is gonna read this and then treat a Savage sports hype tweet as news.

I am going to start a new thread to announce I have read this thread and I am totally on board with what Ian is asking. I feel this is pretty noteworthy news.

But you didn’t.

Pape did. Good for him, even if you suggested it to him.

Oops, I guess this should’ve been a new thread. Sorry Ian.

Patience. I am still working out several quippy thread titles before I post. Starting threads shouldn't be left to the amateurs. I want each thread I start to be masterpieces. Well, except for the ones I hastily start when I get duped by fake Adam Schefter Twitter accounts or some random random Internet troll.

LOL, I get it. My point is just that it makes it easier for people to come in here and see that "Gonzalez was injured" - or "Bradbury and Moses left practice Tuesday" rather than having those buried in threads. If you're at work and only have a few minutes to try and check in to see what's going on, it makes it easier if there are threads there to both find out about it and talk about it.

I donno how difficult it is from coding perspective but for these threads which are more transient or short term in nature can't it be bundled under a rolling daily feed something like news highlights with the dotted horizontal scroll while keeping space for the other longer term topics . For instance gonzo injury is more relevant for yesterday and today . After that it's ok to be hidden somewhere . Just a thought . Else weight end up with too many daily threads occupying prime real estate .

They'll drop off on their own, with the newer threads rising up. I don't think we need to cover everything individually (notable injuries and such can be grouped together, merged, etc.). Again, this is all stuff we used to do here that we've gotten away from, and it makes it a little tougher to do a quick scan to check in on things.

I don't want to overcomplicate it. But I'm just trying to get away from one thread having everything and multiple subtopics where it's tough to be able to see breaking news, stories, etc., and get back to making things easier for people to find something out without having to dig for it.

To your point, I will do some digging into the software to see how difficult it might be to do something like that.

Maybe you can provide an option for the author to tag thread as short term in which case it goes to top of pile and bundled with similar threads or something like that . Just a thought . No need to overcomplicate if not necessary.

I understand. And respect your artistry. Masterpieces take time. But I want them all NOW!
