Ya, don’t think that’s the case. His freshman season was his best, and there was talk he could be an early draft pick in a couple of years. Those talks died completely after disappointing Sophomore and Jr seasons, and spending time in the doghouse. Pretty misleading to say he was ever projected as a 1st rounder in his draft. I have heard peeps say this over the past couple of years, not really the case

There were rumblings just before the draft went down. The rankings fluctuate. Boutte had a poor combine and did not run at LSU pro day.

dude i have been sitting on my ass reading about Training Camp for the last 48 hours and I'm pretty sure I am ahead of Polk & Baker at this point...

Biggest reach was Layden Robinson. He MIGHT end up as a journeyman Guard, but it was such a waste of a pick..

I expect Sow to bounce back this year and be the 1st guy off the bench at Guard.

To me, a 4th for a possible journeyman guard isn't a BIG reach, not more than Baker.

And certainly a 2nd for a player who might not make the roster in his second year is a bigger reaach, especially if the team is willing to eat some of the guaranteed money.

I remember all the articles and analysis. Despite what some guys wrote post draft, he was never really an early round consideration for any team. Just my 2 cents. I liked his growth from season 1 to 2, and really hope he can keep improving and earn a place on this team. Really hope Chism stick too, I doubt he make it through waivers and he seems like a guy that will be productive with some seasoning.
