Patriots Redzone offense...oh boy...

Has he participated in any drills this off-season? Hopefully he's ready for camp but he seems like a PUP candidate for now.
This guy looks injured to you? I am lost. You are talking about Hollins? Hollins is a lock to make the 53. He is our strongest, best blocking, and tallest WR. Think RZ where Pats were nearly last in 2024. His best year was in LV with Josh. Josh signed Hollins early on because he loves him.

This new OL gets a tough test right out if the gate. Crosby looked like a man among boys the last time they faced him. Assuming Vrabes and the new OL coach will have an actual plan. The last staff couldn't even assign a blocking TE to help. We will know pretty quick how improved this team is.

Why didn't he practice all spring is all I'm saying

I have no idea. I assume he has something lingering from last year. The team signed him early on in FA, so they knew his timetable when they signed him. Hollins was successful in Josh's system in LV, so why are you concerned about a veteran that knows the playbook? Let's get this in perspective, Hollins missed 2 days of minicamp this Spring. Why would anyone care about missing 2 days of light workouts?

Hollins is working hard to get back, you can see my previous video. From the workout video it looks like he will be good to go for camp. except for injury, Hollins is a lock.

I did say hopefully he's ready for the start of camp and used pup instead of ir intentionally. You're assuming that this couldn't have been part of the timetable.

I'm not concerned about him knowing the playbook but he does have a bunch of kids that will be pushing him for reps nothing is given.

You mean like getting married to your high school sweetheart or do mean like chasing after actresses like Tara Reid?

Drake likes golfing too.

DWI, Murder, assault and battery, Drugs, you know, massage parlor...

None of the kids are 6'4" tall (they are all short), none are proven run blockers, none have proven experience in Josh's system, and only a couple can play the X receiver. There is not any competition if Hollins stays healthy.

Your right One he is a big, strong good blocking WR and red zone target. But he hasn't participated in all OTA or mini camp practices. He's been around the team and locker room. He had a shoulder injury late last season in Buffalo and couldn't be related to that. So we'll see next week when camp starts. If he's ready to go great, if not then he'll be on PUP likely.

Hollins was signed prior to us signing Diggs and drafting Williams.. Vrabel said he wants to do what he can to support Drake. Diggs is the number 1.. he's the most proven, accomplished wr we have even coming off an ACL. Hollins is a complimentary player. Sure he makes the 53 as he knows the offense so he has that working for him. However I'll admit I'm very interested in seeing what Chism will become as camp goes on.

Agree. Hollins is not a #1, he is a complimentary WR. But he is also a lock, baring injury, to make the 53.

Agreed. By next week we'll be able to see where he's at and if that injury is going to have him sidelined though camp. Hopefully he'll be healthy enough to participate if not and you how it goes as we've seen it year in and out especially during the championship eras.. whenever a veteran is out for whatever reason, contract, injury, ect. it allows snaps to go to other guys.

For RZ offense it would be great to have

1) a 6'6 or taller TE bruiser - we do not have
2) a reliable north-south running back who does not fumble - we do not have
3) a capable 6'3 or taller receiver who can run fades - (? Mack Hollins)
4) a mobile qb adept at running sneaks - (TBD, Maye is still unproven and raw)

I expect their red zone offense to be bottom third based on currenr personel

What matters most in the red zone is having receivers who can get open in shorter amounts of space, Gronk wasn’t 6’7 and he did just fine, same with Travis Kelce and the vast majority of good TE’s in the NFL. You also need backs who can sift through the garbage and get into the end zone, not “ big bruising backs.” And Drake Maye’s running ability was clearly demonstrated last season, it’s not a big question. However since you projected them to be picking top 10 again next draft I should expect this kind of negative drivel.

Baltimore: Mark Andrews 6’5/ Isaiah Likely 6’4

Detroit Sam Laporte 6’3

Tampa Bay Cade Otten 6’5

San Francisco George Kittle 6’4

Green Bay Tucker Kraft 6’5/ Luke Musgrave 6’6

These were the top 5 offenses in the NFL last season, not one had a TE over 6’6. So once again Sam you are just making **** up and hoping it will stick. Kind of like when you said they shouldn’t draft Jayden Daniel’s because of his “ articulation, “

Another thing of note that is mystifying to me. Is last season Allen really had none of his WR's save for Shakir to make plays for him. Hollins was in an advantageous situation thought he'd have more production.

My friend in Ohio had a lot of good things to say about Henderson. I'm looking forward to seeing him play.
I expect him to be a big factor this season. His speed is special. I think we'll see him in in alot of spread formations and specially 3rd downs.

SBB I'm walking around the facilities..

Red Zone efficiency is one of many critical areas to pay attention to, but to channel my inner BB, offenses score points and defenses prevent points.

The Patriots offensive was offensive, sucked and blowed last year averaging 17 PPG (3rd worst), I don’t see a gigantic leap in talent and if they approach league average (about 22 PPG) it will be among mankind’s greatest achievements.

They have what looks like an easy schedule and with complimentary football should see more wins but they aren’t going to putting 30+ on teams.

2024/25 Team Offense - 17 PPG - 3rd worse

Skill position rating - 30th

Offensive line rating - 28th

The OL has added a top 4 pick, replaced RT and added a center.

We Added Diggs and Williams to the WR room.

And drafted a top RB.

It would seem like they made a giant leap in talent to me. That's replacing 4 of 11 starters and 2 skill players that might not start but should have significant roles.

Good points. 15 or 20 years ago BBs defensive mentality thrived in that era of NFL. As far as defense goes the thinking back then was play zone and lure the QB into mistakes. That's a dangerous way to try to play that style of defense in today's NFL with rules gearing towards offense and protection of the QB. You have to speed these offenses up.. you do so by playing aggressive one gap, man defense. Putting pressure on the QB- Center exchange. It does not matter if you're an offensive guru like Andy Reid if the qb can't step up you can't run and offense. Interior pressure is paramount for us.
