The Bill megathread (HC at UNC, girlfriend, etc.)

"Skewered"

You should see all the positive things he said about Drake Maye.

BB called him a "very talented kid" with good size and a good arm…. he was young and had the least experience of those first round guys.

Guess who was the youngest QB prospect with the fewest starts…. Maye. This was the consensus amongst all scouts.

Look it up for yourself.

17 NFL seasons. He holds NFL TE records.
He definitely has longevity on his side. It's not like Gronk doesn't hold TE records too.

One game to win your life is on the line you get either player at their best who are you taking at TE Gronk or Tony G?

Is Emmitt Smith better than Barry Sanders? Based on your logic you'd have to choose Smith. My opinion is the gap is closer between Tony G and Gronk than Sanders and Smith but in both cases I take Gronk and Sanders despite shorter careers and lesser all time stats.

Haven’t been to a Drive-in since that movie “Bullitt” with Steve McQueen speeding around in a ‘68 Mustang GT!!

My last one was in the 80s where me and a friend picked up a suitcase of Bud Heavies and a pair of Nardelli's subs and went to see 'Tank' with James Gardner.

That night we discovered the door mirrors of a '79 Celica were the exact perfect height and shape to rest your beer on.

Damn, those Japs think of everything!

2 of those mean absolutely nothing in any comparison with a player. I don't acknowledge them.
Your argument is asinine. If the defensive coordinator rings mean "absolutely nothing" then why would his head coach rings be equivalent to a player's ring?

It didn't excuse the fact Polian couldn't draft after 2003. We talk about Bill's bad picks, but Polian ran that Colts team into the ground. Their main weakness was the defense for years, but he continually ignored it. Letting Mike Peterson and Marcus Washington go were big mistakes. Interior line, LB and their secondary were always weak links.
Debating the 2000s Colts is a new low for this thread, and that's saying a lot...

Exactly, they aren't. I wasn't the one desperately trying to talk up Bill by bragging that he has more rings than Brady.

"Absolutely nothing" was in the context of that argument because QB's can't win coordinator rings. Those rings mean just as much to me as a backup QB's rings. HC rings mean a lot more than coordinator rings.

That's fine but the odds he would have drafted Maye at 3 had he had the chance are very, very low.

They are all 'rings'. They don't have 'QB ring' vs 'HC ring' vs 'coordinator ring' vs 'owner ring' vs 'guy who runs the beer stands' ring written on them.

Bill has 8 of them. Cope.

6 as a HC with Tom as his QB, 2 as a coordinator under Parcells. No lies here, just facts.

6 + 2 = 8 no lies here just facts but for some reason you can't cope.

We saw it play out. The odds are it would have gone the same way. Maye was always going 3 and none of the other QB needy teams paid the ransom to move up. They were good with the other QB options.

Actually a lot of them do.

8 rings, also just a fact.

In Bill’s book he admits he f’ed up by taking Isaiah Wynn and Sony Michelle instead of Lamar Jackson.
He couldn't possibly, realistically take him. The multi-year conniption fit Brady threw over Jimmy Frickin Garoppolo, would have been 10x with Lamar Jackson.

I wasn't referring to you. This time.

BB did not want Bledsoe from the beginning. He was forced to play him after Bob Kraft gave him that contract that BB opposed.

None of you can explain WHY BB waited 199 picks to take Brady if he saw potential.
Perhaps the better question might be why did 31 other teams pass on Tom Brady, however BB saw something in him that warranted that pick??
The reality is no one really knows how any draft pick will perform in the NFL..

If another team had drafted Brady it is doubtful that his career would have been the same.

Brady landed on the right team with the right coaches.
