I agree. But this move wont stop them from still trying. I just think ATL asking price is high then what teams are willing to pay
Plus Atlanta needs draft picks.

They have been stupid with them recently.

Look at the 3rd we got for Judon.

That became Jared Wilson, Brandyn Swinson, and the Bears’ 2026 4th round pick.

Rodney being enshrined in the Chargers HoF

Harrison will now be in two different team HoF's while continuing to be stiffed by the aholes in Canton

As long as Ron Borges is representing the Patriots their players will always get ****ed by the Hall.

Wrong Borges is one big reason why I don't think BB will be a unanimous first ballot HOFer.

How does it work for a coach? Does he officially have to turn in retirement papers to the league? Does his coaching college stop the clock from running? Or is it just 4 more years and he'll be on the Ballot?

I probably don't need to say it you obviously know my opinion but no way Borges holds him back he'll be first ballot whenever it is he's eligible.

Isn’t he making the same argument as are you here in that Borges’ unnatural bias against the Pats and BB hurts both the coach and players entering the hall?

He will be first ballot but I don’t think unanimous which is unfortunate

What I would love to find out is how many players won a ring under Belichick? When you look at the previous Dynasty’s, the Packers, Steelers, 49ers, and Cowboys the number of players who won rings during those dynasties was somewhat limited, because ( other than the Cowboys) there was no free agency, and very limited movement of players. The Patriots multiple dynasty’s under 1 20 year dynasty was altogether different where hundreds and hundreds of different players won rings, I just don’t know exactly how many it ended up being?

Excellent question and really goes to show just how good of a GM Bill really was.

Reiss noted in his column today that Spillane is the grandson of Johnny Lattner. That probably doesn't mean much to most of you, but I was in high school when Lattner was one of the most celebrated college football players in the country. The following is an excerpt from Wikipedia.

"Lattner played halfback for the University of Notre Dame under head coach Frank Leahy from 1950 to 1953. He won the Heisman Trophy in 1953, and won the Maxwell Award twice, in 1952 and 1953. In 1953 the Irish went 9–0–1, finishing second to Maryland in the final Associated Press poll. Lattner rushed for 651 yards (averaging 4.9 yards per carry) and scored nine touchdowns, caught 14 passes for 204 yards, had four interceptions and tallied two touchdowns on only 10 kickoff returns"

I believe he was the last big-time player that went both ways. Spillane has good bloodlines.

We didn't have TV then. I remember sitting at the kitchen table listening to college football. The announcers made the games really exciting. A different skill compared to today's talking heads.

Apparently Jennings is in a contract dispute with SF and might ask for trade. They've been interested in Bourne reunion before.

Not in love with the idea of this team trading picks and then extending non premium talent, but IDK, if the price is reasonable I'd be interested. Diggs/Jennings/Douglas/Williams is, IMO, a nice blend of skill sets. Has guys who can run different routes inside and outside. Jennings played X last year when Aiyuk got hurt but lots of slot snaps before that. I think you'd have a good mix of guys who can attack different parts of the field from different spots in the formation.

I think WE have been interested in a Bourne/49er reunion, but the 49ers have not

Sauce gets 120 over 4 to re-up with the JETE.

I expect Gonzo to get at least 130 over 4 now.
