Miami has to trade him so the price should be right. Vrabels defense plays on average 3.5+ corners per snap. We would have the best secondary in the NFL by both talent and depth.
If I am reading over the cap correctly it looks like he would cost 10 mill this year and 18 next, with 0 dead money if cut.
Thoughts?

Im assuming the reason he’s being traded is because he wants a new contract?

Additionally, we have two solid CBs, one of which is on a more than respectable deal and the other of which may well be resetting the CB market with his new one in a year or two. As much as I love the idea, I doubt Davis signed on to be CB 3 nor would cover the Pats to have 3 CBs take up a ridiculous percentage of the cap. You also have one more year guaranteed of the QB being on a team friendly deal before he proves he either deserves a heck of a lot more or that you’re still searching for your QB.

Teams looking for a one-year rental in a quest to go all-in are the appropriate suitors for a 31-year old CB.

Teams coming off back-to-back 4-13 seasons are not.

Not the first time his name has come up in a 'Sign the Beast' thread

No because they just paid Carlton Davis more than they should have. Ramsey is also that type of player that checks out when things don't go his way and wants a trade. He's the Kevin Durant of the NFL.

I like Ramsey a lot
but not here, not now
wants a new deal
Pats spent on Davis
Gonzo and possibly Marcus Jones will need to be extended
Ramsey is not the "last piece" for a team looking to a SB. not yet at least

Very good Vet CB who have plenty left in the tank I'm not opposed.

Actually Davis is a top 10 CB in the league.. and the team knew they were going to have to slightly over pay anyway. Alex Austin is a guy I expect to continue to get better... I say Davis sees 2 years on the 3 year deal.. agreed no on Ramsey.. he realistically hasn't been all that good since 2017-2018.. his time with the Jags..

We don’t need another “big” CB, certainly not an old expensive one.
You would rather have young poor ones?
