Marcus Jones should not be seeing time on STs. He's too fragile and he's needed as the 3rd CB on the Defese.

Agree. They can use Chism or Larison as returners. Kick returns have become a joke anyways, might as well not even both with them.

What? He is probably the best punt returner in the game and an average corner at best. Also, when he has gotten hurt, it has been on defense.

However they are thin at CB, and have two young return men in Chism and Larison who they can use.

Every time he's gotten injured it's been on defense.
He's one of, if not, the best return man in the entire league.

Just an asinine take.
He's too good not to return punts. It's a tough sport can't play scared.
Bro makes first team All Pro his rookie year as a returner, yet you want to take that away from him. Most asinine take of the year. I had to read the original comment twice to see if that was a joke. Then I saw who the poster was and it made sense. Ellis Hobbs was also an underrated returner during his time.

Pretty idiotic to restrict him to CB.

Ok wise ass do 5'10" 195 pound guys typically lead block on returns? Do guys who run 4.7 typically return? Should we expect him to be a gunner or a vice guy? Should we expect a lot of special teams tackles? Maybe he'll be LG on the FG team?

I didn't watch a lot of tape from Eastern Washington University special teams so I have no clue which is why I asked.

Last I checked it's a valid question that if you think he makes the team as a STer that you actually have a clue as to what role he would play.

Wes Welker returned kicks and punts with a 4.65 40, and he did it at EWU, so it's at least possible

In any case, I don't know the names for all the specific ST positions, but he could be one of the blockers.

Marcus should play defense or special teams…not both.

I have a very good feeling about Williams. My spidey senses are tingling even though I haven't watched a second of mini camp.

I thought Javon bakers wheelchair quote last year was hilarious but I never got the sense he or Polk were it. I'm excited for this draft class and I'm more than willing to eat crow about wolfe

So you swap out an A+ punt returner to make sure you keep a C to C- corner available?

Yep. Until they have someone else who can play that slot corner position better I think they need him there more than returning kicks, and I think both Chism and Larison can provide good punt returning for them. The slot corner position is basically a starting corner, and I don’t like their depth there. It’s one of the positions I think they need to address in the next free agency and draft.

That’s a good way to change an area of strength + an area of mediocrity to two areas of mediocrity. As a manager, I wouldn’t do it.

I definitely want MJ returning punts and I'd love to see him get a few gadget plays on offense too.

Our CB depth is pretty good. Austin and Bolden are veterans at this point.

He may be better as a group guy than the guy.

That’s because you don’t think anyone else can return kicks, I do. And I don’t like their depth at slot corner at all.

But if he can't play, the area of strength doesn't exist anyway.

I think Wolf was much better in his front office role this year, than as “ the guy” last year. I think Vrabel brought clarity as to the kind of team he wanted to build, and the kinds of players at each position he wanted to bring in. I think they went into this draft knowing who they wanted, and Wolf’s major contribution was in projecting how the overall draft would fall, and who would be available where. But ultimately I give the credit for their draft and offseason to Vrabel, as he was the guy who made it clear as to what and who they were looking for, and had final say on every roster decision.
