I’m taking the middle ground, which I believe to be true. Duncan was better than KG. The gap isn’t as much you’d think when someone ranks Duncan as top 10/12 of all-time and ranks KG around 25, which is about the average ranking position. In reality, they should be separated by a few spots. KG was an absolute monster. Duncan was a little better but a lot more fortunate when it comes to team construction. You may argue that Duncan made it easier to construct a team around him but look at how KG adapted to the Celtics system. The Timberwolves surrounded KG with dogshit.

Well here’s where a team and coach take the fans / pundits wisdom of “stop shooting 3s” because they were 1/10 at halftime. OKC just made themselves extremely one dimensional and surrendered one of their best tools by abandoning the 3 point line in the third quarter and trying to ram through the paint and shoot low payoff midrangers. They’re going to lose the game, and probably the series, if they stick with this in Q4. They have only 2 three pointers. You almost can’t win in the modern NBA with that anemic number. They’ve only attempted 14.

I am not even watching that pile of a Finals but you can't keep doing the same thing over and over again. The Warriors ruined the NBA in a lot of ways and it has bitten the Celtics plenty of times. Hell it killed them against the Knicks and it's prone to you giving up big leads. Live by the 3, die by the 3 and you might end up dying more than anyone would like to admit.

Yeah, well it’s a bad idea to sit around and force up lazy iso 3s, as the Celtics are prone to do. But it’s a really bad idea to pass up high value 3 pt opportunities after assembling a roster of sharp shooters.

Of course the NBA hates Boston. The fact they got the 1st pick in '17 was a nice bone tossed to them. There wasn't a generational player in that draft. The whole racial aspect is still a deep cut imo. Plus they want to, as has recently seen to be folly, prop up certain franchises. The wanted Robinson to get some titles, so they have him Duncan. Then in '07 the league didn't want Boston to get Oden or Durant. We know for a fact that Danny would have taken Durant. Imagine swinging a trade for Garnett to add to Durant and Pierce? I know the 5th pick wouldn't be heading out but I imagine Danny would have gotten something done. Never forgive the NBA for both of this bone jobs.

Lucky for the C's that the NBA didn't want them to get Joe Barry Carroll. Instead they got stuck with Parish and McHale.

Wasn't there also some issue with the NBA not helping the C's after the loss of Reggie Lewis? Talk about sad, tragic stories.

Unfortunately, the visuals of forced bussing in Boston will probably never be lived down.

The one that bugs the crap out of me is when a team is up by a few late in a game, get a rebound, run up the court and throw up a quick 3 that's most likely going to be rebounded by the other team. What's the rush?!?

Len's death was of course still horribly tragic- a kid shouldn't have to die from one mistake.
Those who remember Reggie know that he was on the brink of becoming one of
THE best players in the NBA. He was already an All-Star but he had just recently elevated his game to a new level when tragedy struck. So young and such a class act as a human being on top of being a great player.

Yeah, it doesn't really matter, but I don't think why he had the heart problem was that big of a deal. The real issue was that he had a dream team of doctors telling him not to play but he tried to play anyway.

It became an issue because Lewis's wife sued twice and appealed as well. The court case dragged the causes of heart disease at a young age into the public eye.
