We all hoped Mayo would do well but I'm certain everyone had some degree of concern with him being the head coach for various reasons. Just like this year I feel more confident going into the season with Vrabel but until he has coached this team through the season we just don't truly know how its going to go. I don't have any real red flags going up at the moment and things feel like they are moving in the right direction. So again I am hopeful but its more like optimistically hopeful this time round and not the hope of just not looking like a clown show.

I am so thankful we got Vrabes.

How many hard nosed coaches do we have in NFL - Campbell , Andy Reid, McDermott, mcVay, shanahan , harbaugh brothers , dan Quinn. That's it.

Most of these guys have dabbled with multiple teams, college teams , rose up through the ranks and became a HC.

Now to think of it, not sure how you handed the reigns of coaching for a billion dollar franchise to an absolute nobody from a coaching viewpoint baffles me.

When bob ran out the door as soon as Mayo was hired tells us a lot about how he perceived Mayo as a coach. Looked as if it was a death knell to work under him.

Don't care what the results show this year, Vrabes at least got a semblance of normalcy and process controls into the org and made us appealing to free agents . Great hire Mr. Kraft and fantastic decision to cut losses with Mayo and fire him immediately. If only you fires Mayo before the bills game it would have been picture perfect.

Sounds like you might be over correcting in the other direction a little bit now. Don't let the bad taste left by Mayo cloud your excitement for Vrabel. It's ok to be more than optimistically hopeful you don't have to wait until the season or even next year. (This assumes your only/main reason for caution is Mayo if you have another reason so be it)

I wish I could have the optimism that most have. The military and law enforcement has ingrained in me the moto "Prepare for the worst and hope for the best". It drives my wife crazy.

I'm still pissed I bought into Mayo after week 1 last season. What a dumbass.
It’s fair to give anyone a chance. Question is how much of a chance? Around these parts there seem to be a lot of folks who don’t give anyone much of a chance. Good example, how many are trying to run Mack Hollins out of town just for missing the first two mandatory minicamp sessions?

I forgot we even signed him lol

Yet another ****ing Waste, of everything.

Now go sign another OLineman, geniuses...And make it an Offensive ****ing Tackle this time, m'kay?

If he is truly healthy and I have no reason to doubt he is, him and Milton on the inside? Good luck with that. Every single down is going to be a nightmare for the opposing offenses.

I would just run on them, between the Tackles, until they show me that they can stop it, for once.

Me too, they looked great in that first game, it was all down hill from there. I still don't understand why.
IIRC, because they got really lucky in a game they should have lost, according to players/coaches reviewing games after the fact.

Was Mayo truly elite when he played with pats or was he just a middling guy who got more praise than what he should have. At least HT was directly responsible for 2 plays that won us the Superbowl ( strip sack + legendary goal line stop of beast mode lynch ). Mayo????

There is no one I'd rather have making a tackle 4 yards downfield than Jerod Mayo.
