Worth pointing out... then may be the first practice all year we didn't hear much from Chism He had a very quiet day for him. Which is good. Gave other WRs more chances to catch some balls... If I was a coach I'd want to have him sit out a bit more as he is just such an easy option in these non-contact OTAs.... Of course you throw to the close open guy.

As for Williams, I like what I am hearing... more often than not he has one of the big plays of the day. He typically isn't a guy who will catch a bunch of balls for you and with so many WRs he'll catch even less. I know Polk and Diggs haven't been out there, in the 11-11s. But it is still a lot of mouths to feed. He's getting limited looks, which means he has less chances to impress. But we've heart multiple times how he's had the play of the day early on in OTAs and now this mini camp.

Williams is here to hopefully get you 4 and occasionally 5 bigger catches a game and maybe one or two of which is a field position changer or a long TDs. You have guys like Douglas/Chism for short routes, Diggs/Boutte for those more intermediate ones as well as RBs and TEs to mix things up. Williams is here to be a home run threat, and early indications are he is doing that.
Polk and Diggs aren’t even in the same ballpark. In fact, they shouldn’t even be in the same uniform.

FWIW Reiss said that of Chism's seven catches last Friday, four of them were potentially explosive plays.

They aren't going to keep six WRs unless the sixth WR can play special teams. I think they are going to keep an extra lineman because Wilson is so raw and they have question marks at several other positions on the line. They won't have the luxury to keep a sixth WR unless they can make it so they do not need a roster spot for a special teamer.

I also think Bourne sticks because McDaniels likes him and he is familiar with him. Boutte might get traded. I don't think Vrabel wants his attitude.

Keeping an extra OL only makes sense if they're highly worried about guys being poached.

I thought Ef-ton and Hollins both played special teams.

Boutte still has practice squad eligibility, I think, so they might hold onto Bourne and stash Boutte, but I think Bourne has to prove he can do it in camp or Hollins is the new McD favorite.

It's good to remember that while you have a 53 man roster only 47 of them dress... usually (injuries aside) you have the same 45 or so dress every game then sub out the last 2 based on minor injuries/match ups. Usually that pool you look to sub out isn't the entire final 8 spots... it likely to be only 5-6 of them. So when it comes to the 53 man roster the last 2 spots are either for rotational guys you promote/demote form the PS to get a closer look at or guys you don't want to risk losing on the FA market even if they don't have a place on your team at this very moment,

Cutting a 6th WR to carry an extra OL who would just pass through waivers to the PS anyway seems unneeded.

There was this. Did you miss it? Or are you saying his usual body of work is so good that this really wasn’t noteworthy?

If the latter that seems pretty good.

It's 48, as long as 8 are OL, plus a 3rd QB on the 53 can be dressed as #49.

Boutte is young with plenty of upside; Hollings is an old Goat who should be lead to the pastures.

All players now have PS eligibility regardless of experience, though IIRC there are limits on how many veterans can be on the PS at one time.
