OMG!

Kinda late on this but from reading the missing/limited list is jack gibbens a full participant then? I remember he had a major injury last year and was questionable on whether hed be ready to start the season but i haven’t kept up.

That's very Edelmanesque: Maye is going to be playing catch with him.
They showed SB 49 on NFL network last night and I rewatched it, specifically noticing how Edelman abused Tharold Simon twice on the goal line with nasty cuts. If Chism is able to replicate that rep in live game action in pads, and if he’s able to learn the playbook….. well, I’m getting far ahead of myself. But there’s definitely potential here.

"Mandatory Minicamp 1 notes:

Absent/DNP: WR Mack Hollins, CB Miles Battle, LB Jahlani Tavai, G Tyrese Robinson, OL Wes Schweitzer

Limited: WR Ja’Lynn Polk, WR Stefon Diggs, IOL Jared Wilson, LT Veteran Lowe, RG Mike Onwenu, DL Wilfried Pene, NT Jaquelin Roy-

Drake Maye had impressive throws on two sails to Pop, an anticipatory curl to Boutte, and using a pump to the flag to get Henry wide open on a crosser. Was also accurate and didn’t force passes in the RZ-

Kyle Williams had the play of the day, scoring a ~50-yard TD on a bomb down the middle from Dobbs vs Tampa 2. Also caught a back shoulder fade-

Stefon Diggs participated in all slow-paced periods-

Sidy Sow worked beside Morgan Moses during full speed periods-

Christian Elliss took away an option to Pop during RZ, but TreVeyon Henderson beat him on an angle route other next play-

Isaiah Bolden picked Dobbs for what would’ve been six points in the low RZ and deflected a pass a few plays late-

Jaylinn Hawkins forced Kendrick Bourne out on a jump ball catch in the back of the EZ-

Lan Larison scored on a wheel vs Cam Riley in the low RZ-

Both Borregales and Romo went 4-4 on FG attempts"

Ja’lynn Polk- Limited?

Isn’t he always?

It’s nice to hear Maye is having good practices. Quite possibly picking up the offense pretty quickly. I know he had some academic awards in college, so a very bright guy. I think we will be a run heavy team, but in games where the run game isn’t working, we need him to pick up the slack. Have really high hopes for the kid, always have.

Worth pointing out... then may be the first practice all year we didn't hear much from Chism He had a very quiet day for him. Which is good. Gave other WRs more chances to catch some balls... If I was a coach I'd want to have him sit out a bit more as he is just such an easy option in these non-contact OTAs.... Of course you throw to the close open guy.

As for Williams, I like what I am hearing... more often than not he has one of the big plays of the day. He typically isn't a guy who will catch a bunch of balls for you and with so many WRs he'll catch even less. I know Polk and Diggs haven't been out there, in the 11-11s. But it is still a lot of mouths to feed. He's getting limited looks, which means he has less chances to impress. But we've heart multiple times how he's had the play of the day early on in OTAs and now this mini camp.

Williams is here to hopefully get you 4 and occasionally 5 bigger catches a game and maybe one or two of which is a field position changer or a long TDs. You have guys like Douglas/Chism for short routes, Diggs/Boutte for those more intermediate ones as well as RBs and TEs to mix things up. Williams is here to be a home run threat, and early indications are he is doing that.

I’d settle for Amendola-esque type moves. Just as long he keeps his hands off Kay Adams. I never forgave either one for that hook up.
